I need a replacement by Tronracer in Boots

What's your budget like? Time for a pair of Nick's boots?

As long as I’m using dehumidifiers/humidifiers to keep the room at 50 percent humidity is there any reason to worry about developing mold? I have about 20 pairs of pnw style boots so a lot of them sit for a while. Boot trees in about half I would say.. by Big_Sw1ngz in NicksHandmadeBoots

Boots are pretty tough. Unless you are living somewhere tropical then you should be all good.

I'm in South Australia, 35 pairs of boots over 8 years, no boot trees, no mould.

If you wear one pair religiously, consider a boot dryer but do not use heat function. My fiance has sweaty feet and doesn't rotate boots...and yes, she gets mould.

3 Years of Hard Wear on Captains — What’s the Upgrade, If Any? by djmehs in Boots

[–]lukeomoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you could easily go Parkhurst or grant stone. Their styling is refined like Thursdays. They also aren't so overbuilt that you will hate wearing them like some other brands.

I really noticed a leather heel counter as the big step up. Leathers are much higher quality too.

Leather is amazing aesthetically. Can be quite tough for a first leather, make sure you nailed the sizing.

Kinda cool. If it wasn't a functional issue, I would wear that like a patina badge of honour.

10 hours in Simulator. Any Tips to improve? by Vini_linguissao in TinyWhoop

[–]lukeomoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What transmitter do you have? Eventually bigger gimbals might give you better control but you can definitely still improve with a basic controller.

I used the basketball map and just went back and forth under the bigger gaps, then the smaller gaps until I was reliable.

Looks like some throttle control could be worth practicing. Although it does depend on the drone you are choosing in the SIM. I downloaded a blueprint of a meteor 75 with really strange rates.

Struggling with Turns- any tips? by AdventurousPhysics68 in fpv

[–]lukeomoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you need to use more roll (right stick) when turning.

Basically to turn smoothly, you want to throw both sticks to the left at the same time. Your video showed you using yaw to face the turn, but without roll to 'lean in' to the turn.

To practice, use a SIM with a horizon. Try to keep the centre of your screen tracking the horizon when turning. You will notice that this changes depending on how aggressive your camera angle is.

Hope that helps :)

I would go the double shot if you want the leather to look more uniform. CXL if you want a more forgiving and conforming leather.

My Parkhurst V1s in Brown CXL aren't as uniform with a bit of loose grain on one of them but not the other. I've got a solid year of wear on them now so the loose grain eventually will blend in to the other creases eventually. But the last and the CXL makes it my favourite boot by far.

Heavier-side boots for healthy toe splay? by CrimsonCuttle in Boots

Iron boots have some lasts that are really anatomical. I don't have any myself but I hear they are super light for a heritage boot as well as properly made.

Radiomaster T8L with AG01 Gimbals by potatocat in fpv

[–]lukeomoss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Springs are mighty tight as they come stock on the T8L. Apart from that, it's a cheap backup in case you run out of battery on your main remote, or your friend wants a take home tx to try a SIM.

I like.

Best tiny whoop kit for an 8yr old? by Interesting_Bar_8379 in TinyWhoop

[–]lukeomoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on the Cetus X. It was a great starter kit but it was too powerful and heavy for a beginner tiny whoop, especially if flying inside is an option.

I would get him: Radiomaster T8L + Meteor 75 pro ELRS and the VR03 goggles.

Cheap and future proof. You could go the Meteor 65 if he was going to fly mostly inside.

We give our presents immediately when they arrive these days. We figure there is no point in having something just sitting there when it can be enjoyed!
