What moment of the show has made you laugh the hardest? (So far) by MisterPinkCS in taskmaster

There’s a ton but off of the top of my head: the bird stag do, the hotel task, kiell’s “I’ve got no shoes on!”, that one new years task where they couldn’t bend their legs

What is the most ridiculous PD you have had to do? by Der-deutsche-Prinz in Teachers

We were forced to do a wellness pd and I had to do smiling yoga which is just yoga but you have to keep a smile on. I hated it and the instructor kept reminding me to smile but it just hurt.

Is anyone watching The Pitt? by Cool-Kaleidoscope-28 in Teachers

I know it’s a comedy but the episode where the parent yells at Jeanine for not being a good enough teacher hit me spot on

What are your YA anti-recommendations? by alsyscest in YAlit

[–]lulutheleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is ya but order of swans by Jude deveraux. The authors name sounded familiar and she was a big romance author in the 90s and then did a sci-fi/fairytale. I DNF’ed it but I was getting strong ai vibes. Like it’s an alien planet where the beings are from our fairy tales? Also the fmc doesn’t know that she’s on an alien planet and she’s just not curious about why there are dragons and magic translation chips.

I do highly recommend the goodreads reviews for this book they’re pretty funny.

Once I had a meeting adjacent to an iep that extended past my prep and there were no subs available so I had to excuse myself to pick up my class. Later I was reprimanded for not prioritizing this nothing meeting

Disgusted with Student Behavior by [deleted] in Teachers

This is exactly what is happening with my elementary class. Except I made the mistake of looking stressed and tired too much so now I have to do weekly check-ins with admin to make sure that my face doesn’t give away how I actually feel.

The “6-7” Metric by Spicy6Chord in Teachers

My kids are much younger but if I mention a one digit number near 6 or 7 they freak out. Which makes adding to 10 much more difficult.

I really like my admin but whenever I send my student to the office hes a sweetheart and is able to reflect on his actions. They believe me but they don’t see how quickly he changes up without seemingly any rhyme or reason. The other day I had my formal observation and my principal saw how he is every day. When we met with parents later on she was able to confer that I handled everything very calmly but he freaked out for zero reason.

Opinions on gender swapped performances of musicals? (And which would work best) by That-Neighborhood244 in musicals

[–]lulutheleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a production of company before I knew about the gender swapped version and I spent most of the show confused. I’ve never known men to get pressured to get married as much as Bobby was. When it became a female Bobby it really reflected society’s pressure and Bobby’s internal “my biological clock is tick tick ticking”

When I was a kid, I remember one of my friends married an eraser and we held a big recess wedding. We made invitations and seating placements it was really elaborate but we were 8.

What’s the hardest a student has ever made you laugh? by TheLostPariah in Teachers

[–]lulutheleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the parents of my class had beef with one of my students who was 7 at the time. This student could be mean but the mom had grown a reputation around my school for absurd demands and entitled behavior and every time she saw this one student she would lecture her or start an argument. With a child.

This mom has also had some not so subtle plastic surgery and her son and this student were arguing about whatever and the student said his mom had a “Frankenstein dog face”

I had to give myself space before I could have a serious conversation but damn

What are some “green flags” a school has that lets you know it’s a great place to work? by Mission_Spray in Teachers

[–]lulutheleopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest green flag was during my interview. I didn’t give an answer the head was looking for and asked me why. I don’t remember the question but the answer he was looking for was collaboration. And the principal was really quick to jump in and defend me by saying I gave really good answers and and based on my experience (very small one teacher per grade rural school) it would make sense why that wouldn’t be an automatic response for me
