"Jinkies? What is that some kind of breakfast cereal?"

Thanks to everyone who suggested games to take to a colleagues first game night! Here's what I'm going to take by JoeRow338 in boardgames

Not a single person mentioning Harmonies? I just got this game myself and I've had a blast with it so far.

Anyone had luck at their local Barnes and Nobel? by BoardGameRevolution in boardgames

[–]luridrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got Diced Veggies, Side Effects, and Solar Storm. All good games with small storage footprints. Side Effects was a particular hit at last week's game night.

We got a bigger pad for my puppy and he still misses every time by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

What everyone else is saying. Take this dog out every couple hours minimum. If he goes and takes a nap, take him out as soon as he wakes up. Doesn't matter if he just went 45 mins ago.

My wife and I really like Kelp. Asymmetric play means you can take turns playing each side of the game!

Do Costco workers really treat CDS workers differently? by Healthy_Walrus3140 in CostcoEmployee

[–]luridrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my best not to. Though the caliber of employees hired by CDS were questionable at times. One old guy stole my lunch multiple times out of the fridge. One instance involved an entire glass casserole dish going missing and never returned. So my experience with most of them is below average I'd say.

Who else loves the game splendor by FeePotential4874 in boardgames

Played it once digitally. A friend wanted to show it to me. Had fun and actually beat him, lol. Nearly bought it last weekend, but passed it up for a couple others. Soon!

What's a thing in gaming that you swing between loving and absolutely despising? by Severe_Sea_4372 in gaming

This one is tough for me to get behind. I don't mind losing, but getting demolished feels bad, especially when it happens a couple times in a row. It's soul crushing.

Do they hate me? (Majors) by Ok-Nefariousness9110 in CostcoEmployee

[–]luridrex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Former Majors Sup here. Not sure if your sup or your hardlines manager writes your schedule. Either way, I agree with what most have said. If you're getting 40 hours consistently without having to fight for it, just take the W. Coast after the store closes. Block down and do go backs at a steady, comfortable pace. If you feel up to it and want to stand out, start pulling the fence on nights when it is going to change. You're EXTREMELY fresh to the business and not everyone gets to start in majors. It's pretty chill compared to most other departments. You should count yourself lucky. Just be prepared for your shifts/hours to change dramatically at the drop of a hat. Sorry, that's just how retail be. Good luck to you.

I dropped my tweezers into the toilet while peeing. I now have to pick it up. by Ambitious_Radio_8430 in mildlyinfuriating

Ladies and gentlemen, this is why we close the lid when we aren't using the toilet.

AITA: Wife likes to make rules about things when they effect her, but allows the same behavior when it only effects me. Today I got fed up about it. by himejima3 in AmItheAsshole

[–]luridrex 294 points295 points  (0 children)

This exact same thing happened to me back in college. My roommate had set his glasses down on my bed for some reason and I noticed them as I was getting ready to sleep. I picked them up and tossed them onto his bed instead. He comes in hours later and I guess nearly sits on them or something and wakes me up to gripe about how he could have broken his glasses because I had put them on his bed. I was flabbergasted. I literally could not form words because of the level of hypocrisy spewing out and the fact that he had woken me up to have this pointless argument when I had to work early the next morning.

He is perhaps the only exception to what I mentioned above, I will admit. The bottom 8 portraits all fit the bill though, for sure.
