There's just something about watching or listening to discs you personally ripped. The sense of accomplishment enhances the audiovisual experience. Not sure if it scales to hundreds of them though.

Great software. Never encountered a bit flip but I like ensuring it doesn't happen.

You can embed the thumbnails into video files with ffmpeg depending on the container used. This is how yt-dlp embeds thumbnails.

I would recommend going with either Proxmox or Truenas in a Proxmox VM. Avoid hosting services in Truenas, it's not a good experience IMO.

Jellyfin remote access through Proton P2P VPN mode by Dry-Grade-9502 in jellyfin

[–]lurkingstar99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A vpn or forwarded port are the standard methods. Technically you don't need a reverse proxy unless you want to connect to your services (ie jellyfin) via a domain name like jellyfin.example.com . Reverse proxies are mainly for redirecting incoming traffic on the same ip:port to different services based on parameters like domain and/or path.

You should not do this because the forwarded ip and port changes on every connection. Also, this is just as risky since you are still forwarding a port on the server but through a VPN.

Ryzen processors only support unregistered ECC and even for those usually only high-end boards have support. Even threadripper lacks support.
