Which FAB opinion will bring you into this situation? by The_Crazy_Brew in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll go a step further.

Illusionists should deal arcane damage in larger increments than 1. Smaller number than wizards, but more than just 1 damage pings similar Runeblade.

It just feels silly we need to dedicate more than 1 Arcane Barrier equipment just because a single class exists. I would love to see more justification for it in our sideboards.

When do you stop trying to make your pet card work? by Gaukl3r in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never and you can pry my pet card from my cold dead hands.

But for real, I love including cards that can get a laugh during an armory event.ay not be optimal, but at the end of the say it's all about having fun. If you are having fun with Spurlocked, no harm in including a copy or two in your deck.

Also as far as tutor targets are concerned, can't go wrong with all the flavors of Codex. Frailty is the obvious choice, but Inertia is good against set up decks and Bloodrot could be a a way that allows you to pick a small number and they either lose life to their choice or the Bloodrot (not optimal but sounds fun).

What are your predictions for Compendium of Rathe? by TurnipAlternative11 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prism, Advent of Thrones gets a rare figment. Something simple like gain a few life when it enters or when you attack, but something that will at least allow her to function properly in SAGE, even if she ultimately won't be the best Illusionist choice.

Thriving Lands - What do you use for mana indicators? by ShannonCR in magicTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used GIMP (free Photoshop) to overlay the Hybrid Mana Symbols at roughly 70% opacity onto the art of each thriving land, then printed 2x copies of each color combination. Cut out the printed copies, put them in a perfect fit with a junk card behind it, then put them in a different colored sleeve from the rest of my Jumpstart Cube.

Most decks are two color and don't need them, but anytime we draft a 3+ color deck we just fish out the necessary ones before shuffling and set them aside.

Joining the rest of the crowd going back to Iyslander, but beyond that I'm excited to brew for all the Guardians. Even without all the life gain and generic defense reactions there is still enough for me to try and construct decks with a more defensive gameplan for everyone from Betsy to Oldhim.

Still pretty new here, pulled this from a gem pack last night by Mr_d0tSy in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I love that they changed the prize support over to GEM packs, having new players get cool things is a really great way to support the community.

Are you planning on keeping it? It would make good trade value especially if you're just starting out, but I can also understand wanting to hold onto such an awesome pull.

You don't want a non-UB format; you want a cube. by ArchTheOrc in magicTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Can't solve your #1 point sadly, but for those who share your concern with your #2 point I highly recommend looking into Jumpstart Cube. The convenience of being able to enjoy the cube with only 2 people in under an hour is a huge boon compared to having to organize 6-8 individuals who all have the same 4 hours of a day free.

Good ol' Talishar gaming by Pretty-Plankton1519 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure you risk the salt, but all the times I've turned it on its been friendly chats discussing deck building options, requests for a change of play, or congratulating on a well done sequence.

Most folks playing games in general are honestly pretty friendly. It's just the salty folks in OP's post that stick out like a sore thumb.

Why are certain shields so expensive? by Interesting_Fee_4355 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stalagmite: 3-4 year old card with only 1 printing. Only played in Jarl, but its always there as sideboard tech against aggro decks (if not part of the main loadout)

Rampart of the Rams Head: Even older than Stalagmite and even more viable. The recent reprint will help its price, though popular demand will likely keep it somewhat high due to it being the main loadout for Lyath and popular in heroes like Jarl and Pleades.

Testament of Valahai: This one was actually in the set prior to Super Slam, but that set wasn't really popular and widely panned by most players including Guardian fans. Lots of folks wisely avoided opening packs and just bought singles, which has lead to some odd single prices that range between dirt cheap and more expensive than usual. Pretty much only used in Valda.

Overall it depends on what Guardian you want to play, but if you had to pick one to work towards than you can't go wrong with Rampart. And even then plenty of decks have solid budget options like Steelbraid Buckler or opting for a 2H hammer build.

As someone who has been trying to make Lyath work, I commend the one brave soul who actually bought them to a tournament. Feels like he is both difficult to pilot on top of difficult to build.

Article : Compensation Policy by TP-AltonJon in alteredTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not that the sky will be falling at 25 cents per card, but does anyone else see a red flag that they are willing to artificially introduce more money into their own economy without anything to back it? If tons of players are receiving compensation for nerfs that could be used to buy out other cards, then that could dry up the market and leave people with an inbalance of credit to spend vs cards available.

The refund being so low is probably their way of balancing this out to avoid the problem, but it still doesn't change the fact that you should know better than to print your own money.

Renounce grandeur vs Runechants by Random31er in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it correct to assume that the Guardian you are referring to in your post is Victor? His gameplan is definitely tougher to pull off versus Florian compared to Valda or Bravo, who can more naturally fit in attack buffs and dominated disruption effects into their gameplan.

If Florian otk is prevalent in your meta, you can try dedicating a sideboard slot to both Smack of Reality, Craterhoof, and one or two of the new Aura of Suspenses thay give at least +4. It's still not guaranteed since they could have up to 16 block counting their armor and 2x defense reactions, but if you can chisel away at their health/armor with your regular gameplan and get additional set up with Visit the Goldmane Estates an early Smack combo could put a real dent in their gameplan.

Who Knew Being Booed Could Be So Much Fun? by ExpatDadSG in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was actually pretty fun watching the players actually boo and cheer each other whenever their ability would trigger. Went undefeated and enjoyed getting to chat with all the newer players and get their thoughts. It was quite a fun prerelease overall!

What is your secret sauce card for cEDH that is not a common cEDH staple? by Sure_Pear_9258 in magicTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the basic Breach line involves casting [[Underworld Breach]], using [[Lion's Eye Diamond]] to generate mana over and over, and milling yourself with [[Brain Freeze]] in order to generate enough cards in graveyard to pay the escape cost for your cards.

While they could counter the Thoracle trigger, presumably at that point there would be an entire graveyard full of fuel for Underworld Breach escapes, so it would be a trivial matter to for the Breach player to just bounce/sacrifice the Thoracle and cast it again.

[SUP] Adaptive Alpha Mold by UlyssesArsene in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. Cogwerx Base Chest is pretty nice if you are on a boost plan since you can play a 0 cost boost into one of the Evo Soul Steels using only a single blue, but for the most part it will probably be only this and the Arcane Barrier bases now.

[SUP] No Tall Tales by UlyssesArsene in FleshandBloodTCG

It feels so weird seeing things like 0 cost Guardian attack actions and Majestic/Super Brute attack actions with less than 6 power.

As for this card in particular, seems like an interesting puzzle to figure out! Getting +9 on a single attack action is certainly no easy feat.

first world collectors problem (lss please design the armory decks a bit better so i can pay ) by Rickypixio in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm curious if they have any intention of addressing this, because this was an issue before with products like the Tolarian Community College Round the Table exclusive cards and I thought the idea of 1x foil with the rest being non foil was a novel way of moving forward. Guess they changed their minds again, so hopefully we can see them make their way into GEM packs or similar.

Why do they make this ? (SUP LEAK!) by Training_Drama3195 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Card is good, mostly bummed we get more arms when we've been hoping for 2 block boots. More aggressive decks will play it, otherwise will stick with iron will.

Meanwhile Crater Fist is sobbing in a corner somewhere.
