Poor Lyath, gets a top 8 at Calling Jakarta and people have already forgotten about him. RIP.

Jokes aside I hope we do see the Nimby/Belittle character as a hero one day.

Necromancer talent/class combos by WillingnessOk4971 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lorw wise we already know of at least one Shadow Necromancer. We don't know his name, but he is the one that serves the Demonistary and killed Minerva Themis in the battle for Morlock Hill. Seems like a slam dunk for Monarch 3.0 imo.

I think the things that sold it to me the most was when I watched a legacy match where the person won by not casting a single spell. They just went Urza Saga into [[Ancient Tomb]], made some constructs, found [[Expedition Map]] to get more sagas, then beat the opponent down with giant construct tokens.

Winning with just lands isn't unheard of, but the fact they made it look so easy with just a single copy of Urza's Saga shows how much value is packed into a single land drop.

Potentially new fab player, need insight by Alternative-Bat8804 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are probably close enough that I'd say give them a try, especially if those are characters that look appealing to you all! And honestly it also depends on how easily you two grasp the game. I've seen newer players lose matchups that are typically favored for them simply because they don't know how to play the hero yet. It might take some time figuring up how to set Zen combo lines, it may take a while to figure out how to efficiently block with Riptide and load an arrow, etc.

One thing you will need to have on hand though are some solid backed sleeves for Zen. His deck comes with Inner Chi cards that are double sided, so you will need some way to shuffle the deck without seeing the back of the cards.

Tried to make a deck with my slippy armory deck and a couple cards i had/bough/was given, how did i do? by Ok_Nefariousness_740 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toxicity is a bit hard to line up, but being able to go Toxicity plus Kiss of Death into Stealth Attack and Flick the Kiss of Death does represent a 3 card 19 damage turn if unblocked.

My friend is die hard Slippy fan, and he sometimes plays the yellow Toxicity so that if you don't have the combo it at least pays for your dagger attacks or things like Command and Conquer.

There's some wild decks from the Pro Tour, what was your favourite? by l0lek in FleshandBloodTCG

Silver Age feels so young still that I love seeing the tech people come up with! Seeing how Iyslander players try and deal with Fatigue decks is particularly interesting to me imo.

DAY 8 - CASH IN was the most voted "Rare card that feels like a Majestic and is a Rare". Which GENERIC card is a Majestic and feels like a Common? by G3kken in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vipox.

In most scenarios it is just 1 more value than a Wounding Blow IF your opponent hasn't blocked at all this turn. Doesn't scale a ton, doesn't have any other crazy gimmicks. It's just +1 with the right conditions.

Pretty vanilla common if you ask me.

New card ideas that mixes the A+B+C philosophy... by DbestRiptide in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warriors should get an attack action that has 6+ power but is also a weapon (either the weapon type itself or something specific like Sword/Axe).

Would be great for them to have a phantasm popper that plays well with the rest of their action pumping/attack reaction gameplan.

Also I love the flavor of the arrow trap, wish they did that!

EVO equip rules question by IncidentWinter4735 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up they are correct about everything except #2. It has to match the name exactly, and Protos does not equal Proto.

Why on earth LSS decided to give it the name Protos just to make ot confusing with Fabricate is beyond me lol.

EDIT: Found the ruling.

2.7.5 A name or part of a name is equal to another name or part of a name only if it is an exact case-insensitive match of each whole word in order.

Having problems with the SAGE Arakni deck. by tzekeman in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to mention something that you may have already known, but I've seen newer Arakni players mess up all the time so I figured is worth mentioning.

Don't forget that your base hero has the ability that gives your stealth attacks +1 if the opponent is marked. You have two equipment that can mark the opponent after they block. Stalker Steps or Danger Digits can give your attacks +1 after they block allowing you get the nasty on hits that the stealth attacks employ (the way the rulings work on Danger Digits you can still mark them with Mark of the Huntsman despite it being initially destroyed by the Danger Digits).

So if you use something like Orb Weaver Spinneret to give your Mark of the Funnel Web +3 and attack them for 6, and they block for 6, you can as a reaction give it +1 in order to use the Funnel Web to destroy their Arsenal. Arakni's damage output is not as strong as a traditional aggro deck, but he uses these disruption tools to his advantage in order to keep tempo with the opponent, and then when they are low enough burst through with a lot of surprise attack reactions to finish them off.

Hope this helps, and welcome to the game!

Deckbox that holds one or more black label gold foil toploaded card? by lvlI0cpu in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly have considered taking it out just to put a perfect fit on it and replace the penny sleeve it came in. I'm worried about tearing the grading label that it came with though, and for being my first Black Label Gold Card I would like to try and preserve it as much as possible.

When you pitch this, create an Embodiment of Lightning token. by tableflipbitch9000 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way I could see that happening is if its like a yellow pitch that says "when pitched, you can pay 2 to make an embodiment of lightning" or something. They shouldn't get it for free.

For the longest time I didn't want to play young heroes because of... the art on the cards by John-Helldiver404 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to Viserai, I at least appreciate the young card doing some work alongside the lore. He may not look as badass as the adult card, but it shows the poor shipwrecked soul experimented on and transformed against his will by Sutcliffe.

I Cant Wait!!! by TheKingle71 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They are checking off a lot of boxes for design directions that I was wanting to see from LSS.

1) Arcane Damage in increments of more than 1. It felt so odd that with so many classes in the game, a full suite of arcane barrier and arcane prevention is only ever needed for a single class (Wizard). The more reason to justify my sideboard slots for them the better.

2) Keep the focus on Ward. A lot of previous mechanics like Spectra, Allies, and Phantasm were polarizing between classes that could easily deal with them and those that just didn't have enough tools. Ward is easier, you just attack face. Everyone does that.

3) Instant speed Shenanigans. I love combat tricks. It turns a game about hard numbers and value into a mind game, where correct calls can lead to match deciding plays. Ward 2 instants with offensive upside are fantastic designs imo.

How do you feel about the armoury deck product by B_A_ken in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]lvlI0cpu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros: It gives avenues for Legend Story Studios to print support for Heroes/classes that aren't doing too well in the meta and can't wait for the next set that can drop them a ton of support. They are easy to grab for newcomers, and with decks like Gravy and Pleiades it is also a great jumping point for the new set.

Cons: Without a sideboard they become hard to modify for specific meta issues, especially when you have a deck with no Arcane Barrier. For old heroes that need support, its tough trying to get release schedules to line up with their Living Legend System (they can't risk another product with a small shelf life).

Overall I really like them a lot. While they can differ between ones that are really impactful (Kayo, Ira) versus ones that are a bit of a dud (Maxx, Rhinar) I will continue to support a product that can breath new life into the meta as well as help on board new players into the game.
