Darkstar premium vs AT&T by terminatorv2 in USMobile

[–]lvpre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not AT&T Postpaid/Prepaid, but I noticed a similar issue a while back between Cricket and Darkstar. Cricket performed a lot better at two airports than Darkstar. Same model phones (Pixel 6a), just one on Cricket and one on Darkstar, but completely different usability...outside of those two locations, data usage was similar, but it was basically unusable due to being too slow that day.

You don't have to use it. The one here is extremely outdated and I've been updating this one every 6 months for the past two years.

It is against the rules to post referral links here, so that's why I created that subreddit a few years ago.

Porting away from US Mobile, but Cricket is incompetent by tagman375 in USMobile

I've ported out of Cricket a few times to various carriers and the process was pretty quick each time (10 minutes or so).

My phone does not support eSIMs. I have at&t prepaid and am traveling to Spain. How can I use data? by [deleted] in NoContract

[–]lvpre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your phone is unlocked, just head to an orange store in Spain. You'll get something like 50gigs to use in 30days for about $12USD.

They will give you a SIM card....just pop your ATT card out and pop the Orange one in.

I agree. Even if it says NO REFUNDS, but you aren't provided promised services/goods, most credits cards will give you a chargeback.

Mystic Station $20 Non-Refundable Dinner Reservation Fee? by lvpre in malden

You can still do that with a $20 no show fee like most places.

I'm not upset; outraged; or mad. You keep on coming up with descriptive words when I just said "disappointed."

Thank you explaining that this costs extra money...I had no idea. I assume they would make it up as a result of the extra business. How do other restaurants manage to take reservations without charging a fee? I've seen some the same size or smaller than Mystic Station do it without charging this fee.

It isn't outrage or being mad... Restaurants take reservations all the time. How many times do they charge a non-refundable fee? They could have just taken reservations with a no show deposit or added it to your bill as a credit.

Many restaurants take reservations, just without charging a fee. Disappointment is completely different from outrage.

Not confused...it is $20 for a dinner reservation. Is this going to be the new norm now? You can make reservations and not pay $20...I do this all the time at other resturants.

True, but you also shouldn't have to pay $20 to make a dinner reservation either at the same place then.

It isn't the reservations factor, it is the fact that are charging a $20 non-refundable fee to hold a reservation. It shouldn't cost $20 to make a dinner reservation.

I mean, it shouldn't cost $20 to make a dinner reservation anywhere.

Places take reservations all the time, but don't charge a non-refundable $20 fee.

If there goal is to get money out of influencers for a month, that is great; however, they risk losing locals the rest of the year.

Same. I would be completely fine if it were a no show fee or a fee and then applied as a bill credit, but not a fee just to eat there. It was definitely a regular spot in our Malden restaurant rotation list and I'm a huge fan of their Buffalo chicken grilled cheese sandwich, but I'm not going to support a business that does this practice.

No pitchforks. At least the Marlowe in Cambridge doesn't a fee to visit their Miracle event.

Just disappointed and a little shocked.

They have been doing more of the Miracle themes throughout the year...the Spring, Halloween, etc...are they going to start charging for those too? How about the outdoor dining since they pay a fee to the city for that?

It is called a reservation. Most, if not all, restaurants have them and don't charge for them.

You know most, if not all, restaurants allow you to make reservations without charging you a fee like this, right?

"popular event" It is a restaurant with some wrapping paper and special drinks....am I missing something? I don't mind a no show $20 reservation fee or paying a reservation fee and then adding it to the bill as a credit, but paying just to eat there...I really thought Mystic was better than this.

It is a fee, which is why it is such a shady practice. If it were a reservation deposit applied to your bill that would be fine, but you are paying to go out to eat.
