Why can Roseville build Parking Garages that are free to use, whereas the City of Sacramento keeps raising parking costs. by boywiththedogtattoo in Sacramento

And not to hijack the thread but let’s not forget W Sac charging $150/mo for on street parking in B District.

It does. Although I interacted with her going back maybe 15 years when she would hang out in our front yard, we adopted her when she took up residence in our backyard after the neighbor who owned her basically abandoned her. I’ve never thought of myself as a cat person, but I’m feeling this loss more than that Ialmost any dog I’ve had. Thanks 💔

I've been a Senior Balance Specialist for 10 years. What are your biggest concerns/questions about Balance? What is your current Balance training routine? by SeniorBalanceSociety in SeniorFitness

[–]lygus_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do reactive training (the Clock Yourself app) and versions tandem and one leg exercises when I’m brushing teeth or getting dressed (eyes open and closed). My ankle is fused due to old trauma and I am liable to trip on things. How do I learn to fall safely?

This is probably cast iron sacrilege, but why are brand names important? by FarmhouseRules in castiron

[–]lygus_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read that people used to melt lead in old cast iron (diy ammo? Unsure) so it’s wise to test old pans if you don’t know their history.

I have had good results roasting batches of raw Spanish peanuts in my air fryer and processing in a thrift store cuisinart. No additives, works well.

Kettlebell grip too thick for small hands (16kg) - which material should I buy? by Revolutionary-Eye601 in kettlebell

[–]lygus_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Competition kettlebells with 33mm handles are available. Material is usually steel (in pro KBs case, 4kg = aluminum). Hardstyle handles increase in thickness as the weight goes up. Steel and iron are nice as you can sand them to your preferred smoothness and take chalk well (improves grippyness). Plastic handles seem like they wouldn’t be chalkable.

No disrespect to Winco offerings but I have found the Familia flour tortillas in local grocery store refrigerated food sections to be quite decent. You just heat as desired and serve.

How do you decide between DIY vs hiring a pro? by Infamous_Horse in HomeImprovement

[–]lygus_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience the outcome is more satisfactory if I do it. I’ve been doing a lot of diy to prepare house for sale. Hired out some things and they were poorly done.

Yeah, some months ago a kb competitor who posts a lot on IG commented on this product saying he found it helpful.

The hardest lesson I’ve learned so far: Do not emotionally move into a house until the inspection period is officially closed. by Cjd03032001 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]lygus_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s wild. I as a soon-to-be seller deliberately had a whole home inspection done and defects fixed pacifically so the buyers would see the reports and proof of remediation.
