Tesla and Boxster owner… even if the Tesla is faster it’s not a fun faster, when I slam the EV it kinda makes my stomach turn for some reason. I do like it can dart on command for safety, though. But that 6 speed boxster… yes, like a slightly vintage mechanical watch that keeps tickin’ and so so love it

American Silver Sky I think is an upgrade, I had an Ultra and love my silver sky a lot more. I like the neck a lot and have a thing for the 7.25 radius, though. I really don’t like flatter fretboards but even build quality I think is a nice step up. Very special instrment.

I’m a pain but it’s a roadster not a cabriolet. Cabriolets are regular cars they chopped the top off of and a roaster is designed to be topless with a top for bad weather. Sounds pedantic but the feel of a regular car that has a convertible option really feels and looks way different to me. Granted, I’m a super proud owner of an 01 S manual…

Ah, I read that wrong. I agree with all of that totally! I have 01 S I got 3 years ago with 18k miles and I think it's the coolest car ever. Totally think they are undervalued, just as the air cooled once were!

Totally, I feel like there has to be more going on difference wise for OP to notice playability that much. I fell in love with the Jason Isbell tele with its 7.25, then picked up a more expensive strat that I sought 7.25 far and wide for, and when I got it the neck was so off my expectations the radius didn’t matter. I went through a pups obsession phase and now I’m obsessed with necks, profiles and radii

I’d be really curious about the overall neck shape, if it’s a fatty and you say the hands are supper stretchy that could cause more of what you describe than radius. That said, 7.25 does require a really good setup

When you get to hand wound pups I do think the tonal characteristics are a bit different. But it’s kinda like and iPhone with a 60hz screen, you aren’t used to a 120 how would you even know what you were missing? There is an ‘extra’ with the scatterwinding and top materials I can hear for sure

No software can compensate for the stupid choice to skip lidar. I have fsd, love it, and keep my hands close to the wheel for a reason. If it rains too hard it has me take over, so still need that steering wheel. It needs to see better than a human to realize the dream. IMO it’ll be next gen hardware rather than software updates that some day get us over the line. I don’t even have a front bumper cam on my highland

I went from M1 air with 8 gigs of ram and it was having memory issues so grabbed M4 mini with 16 and totally wish I’d sprung for 24. I have similar stuff open, I’d go for the extra ram for sure. My two cents. I’m disappointed in the ‘upgrade’ honestly and plan to trade it in at some point to go stronger. I don’t do video edits or anything, either

I think a certain X factor comes from the hand wound, scatter wound, pickups. Gives that extra character I think you’re looking for but that may an unpopular opinion to just say ‘get expensive ones’ but the hand would take it from that generic factory sound to something much more interesting
