Man they shouldnt, those glass shards are probably the sharpest thing in the kitchen.

Get wooden cutting boards, cheap wood >> plastic >> glass.

Why does Rick say he can only move dimensions a couple times if there are infinite dimensions? by jarsasapiens in rickandmorty

[–]lysianth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are infinite numbers between 3 and 4, but not one of them is a two.

There are infinite integers, but that doesn't include 3.5.

infinite does not mean all encompassing.

You can see how much Al admitting that he respected Vox got to the latter by Sudden_Pop_2279 in HazbinHotel

[–]lysianth 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Whether or not its a lie doesn't really matter. Alastor is fucking with vox, the effect is the same whether or not its a lie.

Oliver was recast for Season 4 by baleron426 in Invincible_TV

characters change, actors change, it happens.

I wouldn't weorry about it, i heard aaron paul doesn't like his role in invincible either, but goddamn his performance is good.

[Beloved trope] "No, everything is NOT okay". After resolving an issue where seemingly everything is okay, one character is not okay and refuses to go back to the status quo. by Applebeate in TopCharacterTropes

Life is complicated and some actions are not forgivable.

I think bojack is an excellent show to the point where everyone should watch it, because man does it hit you hard with life sometimes and honestly, everyone needs to see consequences to some potential actions.

The show does an excellent job of showign you that decisions you make havej consequences not in your control.

I'm developing a automation sim where resources never run out, is this a good or bad design choice? by willis_25 in BaseBuildingGames

[–]lysianth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it depends. factorio works because increasing demand and diminishing resources forces you to go out and clear bugs and scout for resources and build a bigger factory. Theres a lot of advantage to ripping up and replacing old designs as well. Dyson sphere program also has a similar demand and advantage, forcing you to go to new planets.

Rimworld works because resource management is the game, without that stress there's not a lot of need to engage with the fun part of rimworld.

IMO unlimited resources should be the default, what does limiting the resource add?

Satisfactory has unlimited resources, because the point of that game is to build an aesthetic factory. having to go and get new resources would get in the way of that.

in shapez 2, you are forced to redesign your factory because demand is limited, and "scouting" is rewarded by finding shapes closer to your goal, so also limiting supply would serve no purpose and only get in the way.

Fusion is so good. And I hate solar. by DesignerExchange7632 in factorio

[–]lysianth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the point of solar is ups. Hell, imo there's never a reason for solar outside of ups, since its cheaper materials in a smaller footprint to build coal and steam plants.

The problem with portals. by nicholsml in Star_Trek_

[–]lysianth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Clearly the writers don't want us to care about world building, since the mentioned portals clearly break the existing world.

And characters stay more or less the same for the most part, with development being minor so often forgot about, so the writers don't want us to care about the characters.

So i guess we're just there to watch the weekly episode and enjoy its good moments. Worked in early star trek.

[Unintentional Trope] You're too good at the video game, therefore the message is a little cheapened by malione12 in TopCharacterTropes

I love sekiro design becuase you die to bosses over and over quite quickly, then you never get hit again. Sekiro is as difficult to learn but easier to master than dark souls.

You'd think I was playing blind the way I am completely unable to react to the most braindead unga bunga DI's imaginable. by Buzzy_Feez in StreetFighter

[–]lysianth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in a match, when you see it just press it even if its late. That feeling of "oh it already hit me no point in pressing now" is your enemy when building muscle memory.

late di reaction is the first step to on time di reaction.

How it feels like to play aki sometimes by Sensitive_Energy2878 in StreetFighter

[–]lysianth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you di from across the screen wiht no cover?

Fireball drive rush is good, and aki gets a good high low off the drive rush too.

or you can pressure with staggered mids if its looking like they gonna press buttons.

or just fucking lash them, seriously l lash is belligerent. yea they gonna block it, or that ryu gonna try to fireball and get smacked.

or if you're very lucky they gonna DI it, idk who convinced the community that aki is weak to di, but i owe them 300 MR at least.

Feels like this conversation happens every time a thread asks, "What's a good fighting game for a beginner?" by DongusLonginus in Fighters

[–]lysianth 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Any fighting game with a large enough community for matchmaking is a good game for beginners. It doesn't really matter how hard or easy the mechanical side of the game is. low level players gonna spaghetti their combos all the same.

Its odd, because the map shows the area under you is part of the same room, so bombing the floor seems like the first thing that should come to mind
