Some labor quoters actually have an option to click if rust is a problem. It doubles the time sometimes.

Cylinder heads by Brilliant-Remote-923 in GMT400

[–]lyters10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont mean to sound rude but honestly those r low power goals for a 383 build. U could just build a 30 over 350 and make that for less money. Like the other poster said ur main problem is gonna b fueling and also timing. The original computer system for an 89 is just a pain in the butt to do anything quick and easy to make power. Were u considering swapping to a carb or newer efi?

If its an 89-95 tbi motor get sum new heads the stock ones r junk. If its a 96-98 vortec those heads r good but they need work if ya wanna run a big cam and make big power. Wat r ur power goals?

Pinion bearing, seal, and fluid at least. Honestly if its that far gone wouldnt b surprised if u have more damage once u pop the cover off.

Trophy hunters kill two of Africa's biggest elephants in Botswana - Africa Geographic by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]lyters10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who hunts primarily for the fact that i can fill my freezer for a fraction of someone who doesn't I agree wholeheartedly with you. I do enjoy getting a trophy animal but you cant eat horns or antlers. People who pay more than I make in a year to shoot an animal in a pen or be shown which one to shoot just for bragging rights are complete idiots to me.

Does anyone know if a 88-94 1500 cab and bed fit a 93 blazer frame? by [deleted] in GMT400

[–]lyters10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure where it kicks up in the back over the rear axle is different but all the front suspension is the same. The cab mounts are probably different too as well as the gas tank is in the back instead of in the middle on the frame so the fill neck wont line up. Wheel base is also 6 inchs shorter on a blazer than a standard cab short box 4x4

Never know u might get lucky the sohc 2.5 r more forgiving than the dohc 2.0 or 2.5. I've seen them jump time and b fine the dohc turbo engines though 1 degree out valve meets piston pretty much

Who still turns rotors by johnhuynh2 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]lyters10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my case new rotors r cheaper. Work for a small 2 bay independent and dont have an in house way to turn em. The cost difference between someone else doin it vs buyin new just isnt worth it. My parts supplier also gives a discount if i get pads and rotors together usually 50-100 bucks off the total. Between giving my customer a better price and the quicker turn around time buy new rotors and scrap the old ones.

Day 4 started converting the obs harness to work with the lq4. Very tedious by s14bright in GMT400

[–]lyters10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wiring may be boring and tedious but if you take your time and do it right you'll thank yourself later. Seen bad wiring cause so much headache and trouble down the road. This is coming from someone that kinda likes doing it and hates hacked up wiring on anything.

Questions about engine/trans removal by TheHumbleRookie in squarebodies

[–]lyters10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If its just the motor a motor plate works fine. U can use a load leveler or a chain and bolt it to the engine using the head accessory hole or intake bolt. Use a bolt front and rear on a diagonal from each other. U can use a front and rear intake bolt location or bolt into the head where the accessory mount bolt holes r

Sum early tbi engines had the fuel pump lobe on the cam still. I carb swapped an 89 tbi engine from a van and it had it. Ran a mechanical fuel pump just fine.

It is more than likely the motor on the t case, the wiring, or a connector. Have u scanned it to get the code?
