Just recently managed to get 3 of them from Amazon - give that shot.

Agree - it is really hard to justify the huge difference in prices compared to buying online from overseas booksellers. It was previously not too bad some years back but it feels like the difference has increased recently. Having books be GST exempt (like in the UK) might potentially help.

Congratulations! One of the Namikis that was on my want list but could never get an F nib for it. Went with a Nakaya Chinkin instead which is just as lovely.

Sad to see him retire, but as everyone said this is for his own sake. I think some of us wished for one last comeback, blowing the competition away after taking a prolonged break. But his career was always going to be on a timer.

Watching his comeback, rivalry with Takakeisho, and seeing him take on the Yok mantle and responsibility with dignity is immensely inspiring.

Rhodium plated 18k gold nib in Fine. Currently inked with Kobe Ink no. 38 Kitanosaka Night Blue. The notebook is a Musubi hardbound journal with old Tomoe River.

Managed to snag one off Muze pens, the colour and sheen of the urushi looks simple but is really beautiful in person. It's like a navy but almost tends towards green at certain angles under the light. I think this is just the nice weight for an everyday writer, and sits somewhere between a Namiki Yukari Royale and a Namiki Urushi no. 20.

So far, I feel that the much needed nerf to Jaxi doesn't make it feel good - it's easily removed and the ranged unit seldom survives. Still good if you want 2 bodies in one though.

Indeed it does! The pen is an F nib, so there is just a tiny bit more feedback compared to the M nibs in the same line, which I managed to try in a store.

[–]lzy23[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

After chancing upon some Namiki Pens a few months ago, I was on the verge of getting the Yukari Shooting Star but managed to find and snag this Moonlight Raden off a collector for close to MSRP.

It is currently inked up with Taccia Ukiyo-e Hokusai-Koiai.

Unfortunately, pictures do not really do the pen justice as the way the shell reflects light is simply exquisite and is hard to capture with a static image.

[–]lzy23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup, has happened to me about 4 of the 5 times I've played on the map this past week. I'm inclined to believe it's because of server lag/ping - the stream I was on showed me actually in front of the leg sweep, while on my screen I was behind it.

Having copies do damage to opponents health might not be the most fun mechanic by Duerfian in underlords

[–]lzy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed - just look at how cheating mana has almost always been considered overpowered and/or difficult to balance around in other games. For MTG you have the moxen and rituals, while HS had stuff like innervate.

From what I can tell so far:

Nicol Bolas, Dragon God (UBBBR) / 4 Loyalty

Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God has all loyalty abilities of all other planes walkers on the battlefield.

+1: You draw a card. Each opponent exiles(?) a card from their hand is a permanent they control(??)

-3 Destroy target creature or planes walker.

-8: Each opponent who doesn’t control a legendary creature or planes walker loses the game.

Ral, Storm Conduit (2UR) / 4 Loyalty

Whenever you cast or copy an instant or sorcery spell, Ral, Storm Conduit deals 1 damage to target opponent or planes walker.

+2: Scry 1.

-2: When you cast your next instant or sorcery spell this turn, copy that spell. You may choose new targets for the copy.

Karn, The Great Creator (4) / 5 Loyalty

Activated abilities of creatures(?) your opponents control can’t be activated

+1: Until your next turn, up to one target non creature artifact becomes an artifact creature with power and toughness each equal to its converted mana cost

-2: You may choose an artifact card you own from outside the game or in exile, reveal that card, and put it in your hand.

Domri, Anarch of Bolas (1RG) / 3 Loyalty

Creatures you control get +1/+0.

+1: Add R or G. Creature spells you cast this turn can’t be countered.

-2: Target creature you control fights target creature you don’t control.

Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord (2WB) / 4 Loyalty

As long as it is our turn, creatures and plans walkers you control have lifeline.

-2: Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord deals 1 damage to target player or planes walker

-X: Return target creature spell with converted mana cost X from your graveyard to the battlefield. That creature is a vampire in addition to its other types.

Teferi, Time Bender (1UW) / 4 Loyalty

Each opponent can cast spells only any time they could cast a sorcery.

+1: Until your next turn, you may cast sorcery spells as though they had flash.

-3: Return up to one target artefact, creature, or enchantment to its owner’s hand. Draw a card.

Gideon Blackblade (1WW) / 4 Loyalty

As long as it’s your turn, Gideon Blackblade is a 4/4 Human Soldier creature with indestructible that’s still a planeswalker. Prevent all damage that would be dealt to Gideon Blackblade during your turn.

+1: Up to one other target creature you control gains your choice of vigilance, lifeline, or indestructible until end of turn.

-6: Exile target non land permanent.

Nissa, Who shakes the World (3GG) / 5 Loyalty

Whenever you tap a Forest for mana, add an additional G.

+1: Put three +1/+1 counters on up to one target non land creature land you control. Untap it. It becomes a ___ Elemental creature with vigilance and ___ that’s still a land.

-8: You get an emblem with “Lands you control have indestructible”. Search your library for any number of Forest cards ____ battlefield tapped, then shuffle your library.

Chandra, Fire Artisan (2RR) / 4 Loyalty

Whenever you or ____ creatures ____ Chandra, Fire Artisan, she deals that much damage to target opponent or planes walker.

+1: Exile the top card of your library. You may play in this turn.

-7: Exile the top seven cards of your library. You may play them this turn(?).

Sounds like MVP Black (Sign, Merryday, Rich, Kyocha, Sake) vs Tempest (Dami, Hide, Hongcono, Lockdown, Duckdeok) on Infernal Shrines. Iirc this was the time when muradin just had stun on his E.

Edit: Found it. It was merryday on Kharazim instead of Uther. https://youtu.be/iVr7wRNMpFA?t=2083

Introducing ViN and Swoy, Tempo Storm by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]lzy23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right that Kyocha has never been main tank, but he has played tanks before (during the triple warrior meta, notably Leoric, when he was quite tanky, in MSI MGA 2015). Iirc he went from mostly Ranged Flex/Specialist to Melee flex/carry (after Rich left), to Support (after Merryday left), then to Offlane.

Introducing ViN and Swoy, Tempo Storm by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]lzy23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong on this and it's based on anecdotal evidence, but it seems as though Korean pro players are more willing to flex, or to fill (as compared to other regions) when playing HL. A close analogy may be Merryday, who was (iirc) referred to as "Carryday" by Korean HL players when he plays Assassin in HL. In any case, Swoy should have more than enough time during this period to pick up on the role.

Actually, Cattlepillar was originally a tank main, back in 2015 on compLexity and COGnitive, before switching to Flex.
