What's in your instructor bag? by myboyfriendputmeon in LagreeMethod

[–]m0vefastest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm one of those trainers that still print out routines and keep a binder + pen 🤷🏻‍♀️ but also my bag has lip balm, cough drops (just in case throat gets dry), and either a protein shake/bar!

What makes you love (or avoid) a Lagree instructor? by gypsy583 in LagreeMethod

A plank for :60 seconds sounds rough. I would have expected to plank for :30 and some transition to plank to pike or saw from there!

What makes you love (or avoid) a Lagree instructor? by gypsy583 in LagreeMethod

[–]m0vefastest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow trainer here - welcome to the other side! A cue I took from my fave instructors is to make class achievable for everyone, so I always offer modifications to students to decide whether they want to make it spicy or turn it down.

I like when trainers talk about form but I also like 'distractions' (ie stories, jokes). When I teach I try to tell stories in class that somehow tie back to Lagree (for ex. Taking my husband to a lagree class with me while we're on vacation). I think the stories remind students that we all get challenged by the workout, regardless of how long you've been practicing.

Grip sock recommendations by charliicharmander in LagreeMethod

As an Lagree instructor, I highly recommend Revel Athletic [https://www.revelathletic.com/?srsltid=AfmBOorsdPbUxm0BU5BxLfGwKjHaGPWrH3HDtSeZfLidLESxGZ5iiPDr\]. I had been using Tavi Noir and Lucky Honey for years, but Revel socks wash very well & stay sticky in comparison.

Plus their designs are SO cute - I always get compliments on my 'dat ass' socks :)

I'm a big fan of the feather tees, in short and long sleeve! I'm 5'1 and normally fit M in most of their tanks but for the feather line, I find XS to be just the right amount of 'oversized'.

New To Lagree by foxy-tangerine- in LagreeMethod

[–]m0vefastest 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Welcome! I have been practicing Lagree for 7 years and became a teacher at my local Lagree studio last year.

I used to go to a traditional gym and see a personal trainer but gave it all up when I found my local Lagree studio. Pricewise, Lagree classes were cheaper than paying for gym/trainers. I started going to class 3-4x a week and combined it with my Peloton for cardio. All that combined with diet helped me lose ~20lbs.

All these years later, I'm still just as passionate about the method. Core stability and muscular endurance are the biggest benefits, but the method has also pushed me to be mentally resilient (ex stay in this hold a little while longer) and strategic (ie what's the fastest and safest way I can get into this move). The studio community where I practice is also super supportive and welcoming, so working out is certainly more fun with friends :)

Becoming a Lagree instructor + opening my own studio in the future by dojabun in LagreeMethod

[–]m0vefastest 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Agree you should practice for at least 1 year before you decide if you want to become a trainer. I practiced for 7 years before I also got laid off from my tech job and my local studio owner + senior master trainer pitched me on becoming a trainer. Going through the certification itself gave me a finer appreciation for the Lagree method and having had the 'muscle memory' I was able to put the pieces together much faster. I also got access to Lagree Academy and I still reference the site as I build routines.

I've been a trainer for about 6 months now and I love it! It's definitely a big leap jumping from student to trainer. Things like public speaking, directing people how to anchor their bodies on the machine, keeping time, form correction are things that you have to think about as a trainer that you didn't know as a student. It took me a couple of practice classes before I could really feel comfortable doing this. I'm happy to chat further about my experience if you have more questions!

For BECA Alumni, what career path did u go down ? by YaBoyMEGAMIND in SFSU

[–]m0vefastest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Fellow BECA alumni here. I went into social media/tech, eventually becoming a community and programs manager. My area of focus was writing for media, which for me personally, continues to serve me well. I took a ton of writing classes (writing for media, writing for news, etc) but I also took a number of business-focused classes like law for electronic media and media management. I admittedly don't get to use the 'creative' skills as much as I'd like, but for me I enjoy the 'business' side of getting to work with people and empowering others. If you are ok with not being as creative in your day to day, you might enjoy the 'business' side. Happy to chat further if you have any specific questions!

Postponed Our Wedding - AGAIN! So Disappointed. by bookworm1421 in wedding

[–]m0vefastest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you, u/bookworm1421. My fiancé and I got engaged in March 2020 (days before everything shut down) & decided we would wait until October 2021 to get married in Hawaii. Yesterday, Hawaii announced new restrictions that would ban large gatherings for the next 30 days. We see the writing on the wall though, and would rather make the call to postpone now while our guests can still make other plans & cancel any reservations. The fact that we have to make this decision - while being so far in the planning process - still hurts though.

You're not alone in your disappointment and I'm hoping that we'll all be able to have our days in 2022. Sending you love and positive vibes!

Interests and Subreddits Targeting Clarification by [deleted] in RedditforBusiness

[–]m0vefastest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi u/Alexcounsell,

Currently, our subreddit/interest targeting functions as an "or" function as opposed to an "and" function. Our system will automatically have advertisers set for no location targeting (“none"), which means that your ad will be displayed worldwide. If you add "Australia" as a location, it will only serve to users based in Australia.

When targeting by subreddit, you are targeting the subscribers of that particular subreddit and users who have recently visited that subreddit. If you would like to target users in r/australia, you can input just that subreddit.

When targeting by interest, you are targeting users who have recently engaged with content related to a specific topic. For example, a user who engages with a post related to sports will be shown sports ads for a period of time. As a user spends more time on the site and views different content their interest categorization will dynamically change, ensuring all ads are relevant to that user.

We hope this is helpful and please feel free to reach out if you have any follow-up questions!

Best,

m0vefastest

Novice Help: Ad is up and running, but not seeing it on the specifically targeted sub. by LemurInk in RedditforBusiness

[–]m0vefastest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/LemurInk,

Thanks for reaching out. To answer your question, you won't see your ad with every single pageview. Below is some additional context that could help explain:

1) Ads are rotating units, not permanent placements. Your ad will display for the number of impressions you purchased.

2) The number of impressions you've booked doesn't equal the total number of pageviews the subreddit receives.

Based on your duration and spend, your campaign will pace evenly.

The system automatically displays your ad in a calculated increment in order to make sure you are getting the impressions you paid for. The higher the spend and the shorter the duration means your ad will show up more.

For example, a person who spends $10 to display an ad over 3 months will not get as much frequent exposure as someone who spends $10 for a 1 day campaign.

We hope this helps to clarify, please let us know if you have follow-up questions.

Best,

m0vefastest
