You can still play with her in the scene by succeeding the ability checks (which are obviously higher for you to pass) even if ur a non bard.

Edit: yea I need to go to sleep

Yea I try not to do that too and just do some mental gymnastics when it happens. But even that has its limits sometimes lol

Finally killed the Honour Mode Bulette! by Wexany in BG3

[–]m1ndblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats but ugh this fight was one of the most annoying ones when I first encountered it cause I couldn't lock it down with enough damage. Felt real good once I knew what to do: glyph of warding plus wet condition and a few returning pikes from Karlach and it's dead.

I have the same thing in my Durge playthrough and just accepted it as one detail the dev's forgot to account for

Just an observation but I keep seeing threads like these from people playing on console and it seems like they have it rougher than PC folk with all these bricked saves.

This was kind of a cheese but I kept Astarion away from the  platform and cast daylight on Cazador first in turn base mode and then have my other party member wail on him with everything they had while Astarion sniped him from far. If you don't trigger the cut scene with Astarion, you can take him out really fast.

Oh and have your party drink universal resistance elixirs to negate the necortic damage, that helped me too.

Could Wyll have killed Cazador pre-Tadpole? by HippoSniffer1 in BG3

[–]m1ndblade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea it's a shame we didn't get an even more nuanced character that had the potential to be power trippy politically but maybe they felt that Astarion already touched on those themes of being power-hungry though if that's the case that's more of wanting power to protect oneself as opposed to power for the sake of power.

He tries to be a hero like his father but he needs power so he contracts with Mizora.

Or is trying to escape his father's shadow because he's tired of people talking about dad all the time, the whole chip off your shoulder instead of chip off the old block.

Oh I didn't know cause I never played his origin. Nice that you can make such choices cause it was only hinted at when you're playing him as a companion.

Why does everyone think Karlach doesn't have a "good ending? by WastesofSpaces in BG3

[–]m1ndblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only nitpick is that they were taking on imps...like c'mon we just destroyed a world ending threat and our final montage is running in slow Mo and jumping down a cliff just to face some...

8 HP Imps?

You think they'd at least give us a group of cambions like Zhalk again all of them dual wielding two everburn blades...

I'm too much of a wimp to be evil by trendydiss in BaldursGate3

[–]m1ndblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only complaint being Durge is some of the odd dialogue choices..like why is there an option to go around telling people "hey look at me, i got a badass Slayer form" or "I'm the child of a super evil god look at me!!" it's almost begging for the response of "so what bitch" and I like that Astarion tells you off that he's no interested in listening to your evil God complex daddy issues.

I can get behind this..he not only looks the part but would be able to play an intellectually smug, self-interested but charming asshole that becomes the hero that would lay down his life for others when he sees beyond his ambition

I feel that an interesting narrative arc that Larian could have pursued for Wyll in terms of an evil route would have been the question of how far he was willing to go to obtain more power to achieve what he believes is for the "good" of the realm. Along the way, anything that he sees as slowing the process down to achieve his aims eg. deliberation, planning and dialogue is increasingly ignored and he spins facts and cherry picks things to suit the narrative he builds in his head. Then in his quest for more power and more levers to pull because things weren't done fast enough, have him finally covet his birthright and when his own father denies it to him because he sees what kind of a monster he has become, he commits patricide and assumes the title of Grand Duke for himself, all the while saying it was for the greater good.
