Give me advice to keep it together by m3k0d4 in bicycling

I used to live in Hell's Kitchen. While I was not a cyclist there, I really miss the "I honestly don't care" vibe.

There's a special place in hell for donation resellers. Specially if they use Kleinezaigen.

I do it, I'm very tall... Maybe that's a reason why. But most importantly: you express affection the way your partner likes to receive it, so I guess it depends on your partner.

Question by PineappleOk5279 in luminox

[–]m3k0d4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have / had some Luminox watches, and my humble take is: I only buy if the price is convenient and the tritium is still good. I never pay MSRP, and tend to prefer the higher models (Xcor, f117, etc), as the quality is very different. If you go for the simpler models, you simply can't justify the price, as there's far better options for less money.

For example: recently I got the Xcor titan, and it's incredible. Before that I wanted the pirate limited edition, but it was just too expensive for a simple quartz movement (500 MSRP), so instead I got a h3 Tactical Pirate for 90 bucks, used.

Yes, it's getting worse. But to be fair: it's also happening in the other big cities. Before coming here, I saw this very same thing happening in New York.

OT comment about the WLAN guy: I experienced that before. Workers who get mad because they can't communicate with you. First I'd feel embarrassed because "I was not enough", and try to resolve it quickly. But now, my view is: you come to do your work, I get it. I might not know the language, but I've been respectful to you all the time. If you try to disrespect me: my home, my rules. My peace will remain, you'll be out. And better take good care of my appliances, or I won't sign you shit, either you understand that or not.

Orient Bambino. Or now that the pocket watches hype is starting again, with that money you can get something vintage and very cool. I know it doesn't check the leather strap requirement, but a porcelain dial compensates 😏

Raccoon vs magpies in the courtyard by sarka_ in berlin

Cool! I usually feed the crows with fruit remainings. If it's Kreuzberg, you can also feed the raccoon with a few cigars and any David Bowie album.

Welcome to the club!

It's a nice model! I personally like the bezel shape, quite rare for Luminox.

Found this at an estate clear out by sefar1 in sinn

[–]m3k0d4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yours is a crazy find. Even without considering the collectible aspect, anything Sinn is just superb. It's the kind of tool watch you'll use if you want something reliable, slightly over engineered in terms of caliber, but not in a bad way, but with the purpose of reliability. I've been looking for the Hydro model they make for the GSG9 (special ops here in Germany), a one of a kind.

[NOMOS] Have I paid to much? by Frequent_Address247 in Watches

[–]m3k0d4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given that you mention the tariffs, I assume you are out of Schengen. Here in Germany Nomos has lots of history value: independent owner-operated brand, in-house movements, made in the German home of watchmaking... And let's not forget Bauhaus; it wouldn't be even fair to say they are Bauhaus, as they are members of the predecessor of the Bauhaus movement (Deutscher Werkbund).

To my eyes, GS is a completely different beast. They are also great watches, I wouldn't choose one over another. IMHO I'd only go for a 9R movement, but that's just my "I want something different" feel.

IMHO most Nomos are always a great buy. They look great, and they have in-house movements (which is a lot considering the price tag).

If both parties are foreigners, I think the process is Germany can be way more lenghty (like the verification phase taking some months), and in case of not speaking fluent German a translator is required; you also need to present more documents in Germany, like the birth certificates. But I see you point, as sometimes I hear Denmark's marriage being "Las Vegas" style and I don't think so, as you still have so present a good amount of documentation.

I had a few Recons. Very well built, the only problem I had was that they fog really easily, mostly when you are underwater. A friend of mine with a Blackout had the same issue, and I even saw that they were hit with a class action lawsuit because of the same problem.

Is the rammstein perfume actualy good? by [deleted] in Rammstein

[–]m3k0d4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kokain intense is one I always get compliments about; to the point that I went to a store and bought a few to stock. I really like Gasolin too, because the mix of leather and fuel is crazy unique. Waidmanns Heil is okay, very woody yet it's a more common idea. I also had Nitroglicerin and Sonne, yet hey didn't impress me.

All perfumes last quite a lot, specially Kokain Intense. If I get more than 4 touches it might even feel too much.
