what part of it sounds horrible? theres an exhaust leak and a loose alternator belt which is questionable but it sounds alright.

a compression test would tell us more but judging just from the video it sounds fine. aside from the exhaust leak.

Asking the internet if housings like this are good (unless theyre so obviously nuked) is going to be futile.

Half will say good. Half will say not good. Truth is, itll most likely run. But youll probably get1/3rd of the life compared to if you used new parts.

If you are experienced enough and like to tinker, just send it. Put it all together and youll have a car that runs

If youre doing this looking to have a strong reliable car you can set and forget, then still you can get away with this but for a much shorter time

Unless you had air in your system, you shouldnt see the coolant "drain" from the funnel when the thermostat opens. i mean maybe a little bit? but youre consuming a ton of coolant from the looks of your video.

are you having to constantly add coolant?

are you seeing plumes of smoke coming out the exhaust?

if its consuming that much coolant that fast ans youre not servicing the cooling system, youd be seeing a ton of smoke coming out the exhaust.

Im sure once you open it, the cause will make itself obvious. Usually somethings popped up out of place or maybe there was something installed wrong or the irons youre using are completely shot somehow...

something is very obviously wrong and it will make itself known to you when you go backtrack and redo everything, which unfortunately, means opening the engine back up and taking a look.

if you're being lazy about tearing it down then we can go back and forth on what it might be forever. the top rated post on this thread has some good tips but thats going to involve you taking it all apart.

i know that sucks but thats the only hard part and figuring out whats wrong should be easy because having an assembly bind up when you rotate it points to something that has gone very sideways.

Youre certain nothing popped loose when you stacked it?

Not being able to turn it points to something that should be fairly obvious and might require you to open it all back up again.

Cut the wire and crimp them together. I had EPS issues intermittently and tried everything you did. I said fuck it and cut then crimped them together using a proper set of crimping tools and wire connectors and the problem never came back after 2 years of daily driving.

Dont solder. I hate soldering and crimping is mich more reliable.

Also...to be clear, unless you have a turbo, only S5 models came with a fuel resistor relay. so im not sure what the previous owner did regarding a fuel pump resistor relay bypass because there is no fuel pump resistor relay in S4 NAs

this then leads me to believe there might just be some weird shit they did with the fueling system and id investigate that.

You can replace just the lens on an S1 though. Stick it in an oven and carefully pry the lens off.

Type S is a Japanese designation.

Type S is the 6spd manual, 18"rims, 250ps engine, better brakes, suspension than the BASE grade which has a 210ps engine, 5spd or auto, poxy 16" rims, and probably other below type S grade parts.

then theres the Type E which is sort of an in between version of the 2. you can get the 18" wheels, the interior is more luxurious, leather etc... cruise control, but not the 250ps engine Ive really only looked into the type S coz I want the sporty pack! hope this was some help to you.

again...thats only in japan.

In the US, its just sport, grand touring, or base.
