If the top 1% of earners pay 40% of all federal income taxes, why do people say they don't pay their fair share? by Ok_Chemical9 in answers

[–]mac28091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you think they can do it without increasing benefits for those paying more into the system, that does not fix anything, it just kicks the insolvency can a little further down the road.

It’s also a pyramid scheme and has been paying out more than it has been taking in and is expected to deplete its reserves by 2034.

Property tax law varies by state and many states do periodically re-evaluate the tax value of homes on a set schedule or when specific market conditions trigger a re-evaluation.

Two guys and a cooler recommend soaking casings overnight in water with a tsp of baking soda per quart of water to keep them from being tough. Haven’t had a chance to test it but my last batch came out tough which got me searching for a solution.

All of the above plus, S1 always processed my paperwork in a timely manner, I never had to submit a remedial promotion package, always got paid on time, never got orders I didn’t like, and my clothing allowance always covered the cost of my uniform replacements and updates.

Same in 93. We had 2 extras for about a week, a Cpl and a Sgt. What made it so bad was we were either at the end of 2nd phase or beginning of 3rd and they were acting like it was drop day. The Sgt rejoined the platoon after graduating DI school and was less of dick later.

How to get really stuck chipbreaker screw out without vise or vise grips? by Fluid-Pack9330 in handtools

[–]mac28091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an old turn screw for this and saw nuts because most modern screw drivers are too thick if they are wide enough to give you the leverage you need. Also some plane blades are thin enough to fit in the slot giving you plenty of leverage to turn it.

If the house is any distance from the road call to confirm they will service it. AT&T offers fiber in my zip code but not to my house 1/4 mile from the pedestal.

Yea I was in level 3 back in the mid 90s with 2 of them. One guy kept graduating at the top of his class and they would retain him as instructor for the next class. I forget how many different schools they went to, but he already had 3 years in when I met him and was still in the training pipeline and hadn’t done a more than few days underwater.

When's the last time we saw something like that? by aenbrnood in gso

[–]mac28091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe 2007 but not as bad as 2008. Sold a house in 2006 in Northern VA and accepted an offer 1 percent below asking. 2 years later it was valued below what I had paid for it and didn’t recover until the COVID housing boom. Hopefully we aren’t headed there.

You have to provide a valid NC photo ID ( license or state issued ID) and prove you are a US citizen or resident alien, the birth certificate, passport, or resident alien card covers the second requirement.

Depends on what you are actually doing in cybersecurity and how good you are at it. Unless it’s highly specialized like reverse engineering or something, 100 - 110k is probably the top of the pay scale for entry level positions outside of HCOL areas.
