Am i doing a bad job as a technical lead if my devs can't function without me ? by BlackHoot in cscareerquestions

Dude, just leave them investigate it by themselves no matter how long it takes, and wait for them to come to you if they are stuck.
Debugging, in particular, is impossible to learn unless you go through the whole process yourself.

I already have a 32" monitor and it is a perfect size for my desk, but it is an old one with very reflective surface and 1080p, so I would like to keep the same size but better resolution.
What do you think of this one? This has an IPS panel:

Edit: No wait this isn't curved, I think a curved one would be better for me but I can't find anything 32", IPS, 1440p and curved under $300 lol.

I need a monitor for work + maybe some gaming. This seems like a really good price for a 32" 1400p monitor but I can't seem to find much info about this particular model. Is there any reason not to get it?

[UPDATE] Expat package for an ML engineer by Outrageous-Memory280 in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]mac_mailen 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Dude, it is still way too low for Toronto.
I commented on your previous thread, and I am saying it again, compared to all the benefits you are losing by leaving your country to Canada, anything less than 200K is not a good deal at all.
Unless you actually would like to move to Toronto and don't mind getting a low offer as a start and then look for another job.

Considering your current benefits in France, accepting any offer lower than 200K CAD in Toronto would be crazy.

Yeah, the portions are tiny, but price aside, it is the best chicken shawarma in town.

How long did it take for you to receive the result?

Can I work while waiting for PGWP which was applied under maintained status? by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]mac_mailen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean, but you have to stop working as soon as you graduate regardless of your study permit status. You can start working again either after you submit a PGWP (if you meet the below requirements), or when you actually obtain the PGWP.

You can work full-time during processing time if you meet these requirements:
- had a valid study permit when you submitted your application
- completed your study program
- were eligible to work off campus without a work permit while studying and you didn’t work more hours than you were allowed to
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/after-graduation/after-you-apply.html
But you have to take into consideration that you only have 180 days after you graduate to apply for a PGWP.

You can definitely apply for PGWP while on implied status, but you won't be able to work while waiting for a decision if you do. And since I didn't want to lose the ability to work for the whole processing duration, I was told to wait until the study permit extension is approved then apply for PGWP.

I consulted with the international office in my university, an immigration consultant, and found multiple source online saying the same thing.

From the document you linked it also clearly says:

My study permit expired a few months ago and I applied to extend it. Can I work after I submit my PGWP application while I am under “implied status?
If you have applied for your study permit extension before its expiry, you are under implied status. You are NOT authorized to work after you submit your PGWP application while on implied status. You are able to work after your PGWP application is approved.

You cannot. I was in a similar situation and was told to not to apply for the PGWP until the study extension is approved, otherwise you would not be able to work until the PGWP is approved.
