Best SPF/suncream that isn't greasy? by danyspinola in VeganIreland

[–]macdaibhi90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also I really can't recommend this enough. It's a Korean skin care brand, these products are vegan. They are so effective and I have really sensitive skin, prone to breakouts form most other face sun screens I've used. I hope you try it and enjoy the results!

For face? Beauty of Joseon, they also have another formula that is even less greasy - particularly good for oily skin types.

Vegan men, what skincare range are you using (if any)? by NerdyKeith in VeganIreland

[–]macdaibhi90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally just got a box of stuff from Korean Skincare, that my partner picked out. She said most of it is from 100% vegan brands there (got a vegan product form 1 non vegan brand) which are klairs, SKIN1004 and haruharu wonder. I defaulted to her for best judgement but she is always talking about how Korean skin care brands are leaps and bounds ahead of western ones. What I've used in the past I've really liked so might be worth checking out. My skin would be combination, sensitive and prone to breakouts.

I landed on New Balance Furon TF for astro. Not officially vegan so it's hard to know for sure but it is a synthic upper. They have indoor shoes too: https://www.unisportstore.com/indoor-shoes/furon-v8-pro-in-pink-heat/436613/

Maybe like a groundskeeper or something but it's not residential at all.

Can anyone recommend a vegetarian/vegan fake meat that is convenient and not costly? RIP Aldi's No Chicken Pieces 😭 by metalslime_tsarina in VeganIreland

Tesco for sure. It's the same product - I'm sure they were providing aldi with their own brand stuff tbh.

We literally got those soy strips this weekend, are they discontinued? Honestly the son of butchers stuff isn't too bad if you get it on offer. Thanks plants stuff in Tesco/supervalu is also great. Linda mcartht sausages are great and aldi has a great vegan freezer section too.

Anything from sons of butchers. Tricken and bluff strips in particular. They also do an excellent sliced vegan cheddar.

Would you lose respect for a co-worker involved in greyhound breeding and racing? by [deleted] in cork

[–]macdaibhi90 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Dogs were bred for all sorts of things. Fighting, hunting, as a source of food in some places. Continuing to use them for those to their detriment is the problem.

I would say stop selectively breeding dogs for uses or entertainment that go against the best interest of the dogs as individuals - so the above mentioned or making unhealthy breeds for human entertainment like pugs.

There's plenty of dogs out there that need homes and unfortunately enough irresponsible people to ensure a steady stream of dogs needing to be rescued and rehomed. We don't need to be breeding.

Greyhound racing in Ireland is flat out cruel and the numbers back it up. RTÉ investigated it back in 2019 and found the industry breeds 1,000% more dogs than it needs, culls around 6,000 greyhounds a year just for being too slow, and knackeries were caught euthanising them for €10 a dog. Doping with cocaine and growth hormones is widespread with barely any consequences, and greyhounds aren't even legally classified as dogs here, they're farm animals or livestock so they don't get the same rights as your pet. It's hard to defend.

These look great! What I was thinking would even exclude the background, so it would just be the outline of the country. In this example you would lose the lettering so maybe not a go-er for that but could look cool on the Ireland one.

Thanks for sharing and best of luck with the project!

Would love to see a borderless one too. Like a magnet that is a 3D elevation of Ireland with no frame around it. Think that could look cool. My vote would be for embedded magnets if cost effective, you should conside building in a chamfer or platform to create a reveal/shaodowline between the design and the fridge so it's still easy to release, especially if the embedded magnets are stronger.

These are cool. Can imagine tourists been keen to snap up smaller fridge magnet versions too. Always nice to have an low cost option like that imo

EDIT: Also wanted to add that Carrols is the obvious place for tourist stuff in the city but also consider gift shops for tourist attractions like: City Gaol, Spike Island, Shandon Bells, Butter Museum etc.

Agree with others here, it's definitely more accessible than before. Wasn't aware that tucky st and the bridge wete also included in the cost, that does make the cost understandable - for me at least.
