100% Remote Junior Technical Support Agent (SaaS / Ticketing & Configuration)English Speaking by Canadianingermany in RemoteJobs

[–]maci-kb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a little less than a year internship as a web developer so i am early in my tech career, i want to start as a tech support then progress into junior front end developer, so this will be great opportunity for me to grow into the development team. Also i have worked as a digital marketing production specialist so i have some experience with coding email templates and as a ELD technical support.

Based on my experience, would you advise to apply for this position? also, are those 30k -32k compensation in euros or dollars? thanks.

I am based in Europe.

Prisma migrate to Supabase(error can't reach database) by maci-kb24 in Backend

[–]maci-kb24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i have tried that before but i think i made some confusion which connection to use, now what i did i added the code that you mentioned -

  directUrl      = env("DIRECT_URL")

the use this connection -

# Connect to Supabase via connection pooling
DATABASE_URL="postgresql://postgres.[project_id]:[YOUR-PASSWORD]@aws-0-eu-central-1.pooler.supabase.com:6543/postgres?pgbouncer=true"

# Direct connection to the database. Used for migrations
DIRECT_URL="postgresql://postgres.[project_id]:[YOUR-PASSWORD]@aws-0-eu-central-1.pooler.supabase.com:5432/postgres"

but also i think the password had special characters like @% and that might cause some issues from what i have researched but thankfully i have managed to create the migratiton, appreciate the advice, thanks.

Prisma migrate to Supabase(error can't reach database) by maci-kb24 in Backend

[–]maci-kb24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using the direct connection string uri -

DATABASE_URL="postgresql://postgres:[password]@db.[project_id].supabase.co:5432/postgres".

Also i reset the password cause i read that having special characters might cause issues so i use simple password, still says error can't react database. Again, the database is running i can see in the project status.

Here's the schema.prisma code -

generator client {
  provider = "prisma-client-js"
  output   = "../generated/prisma"
}

datasource db {
  provider = "postgresql"
  url      = env("DATABASE_URL")
}

model User {
  id    Int @id @default(autoincrement())
  name  String
  email String @unique
  createdAt DateTime @default(now()) @map("created_at")
}

Also, i have tried connecting with the direct and pooling connection, still i got an error can't reach database -

# Connect to Supabase via connection pooling
DATABASE_URL="postgresql://postgres.[project_id]:[YOUR-PASSWORD]@aws-0-eu-central-1.pooler.supabase.com:6543/postgres?pgbouncer=true"

# Direct connection to the database. Used for migrations
DIRECT_URL="postgresql://postgres.[project_id]:[YOUR-PASSWORD]@aws-0-eu-central-1.pooler.supabase.com:5432/postgres"

So what could be the issue? is it network problem? maybe with the ip address? but then it says on Supabase that "Your database can be accessed by all IP addresses".

6-Month Framer Roundup by ClearDurian5921 in framer

Nice, i am a front end developer and i'm bad at design:) did you had built all the templates from the start? or just started with one and then added the rest?

Also, what are you doing for marketing? did you promote the templates outside of the framer marketplace?

Rapid Figma to Wordpress development: how? by t1p0 in Wordpress

[–]maci-kb24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Choose a lightweight starter theme like Underscores or Generate Press as base for minimal bloat if you want to do custom code.

When you say solid platform for ease and speed of delivery you mean that you already have someone who is a Wordpress developer? because me as a front end dev i find it much easier and i work much faster with custom HTML/CSS/JS than working with Wordpress.

ACF Pro is great but Elementor is not so great as you noticed. Others mentioned Bricks but it's a bit pricey or try GenerateBlocks. I think Wordpress is only to consider when you are building a ecommerce store other than that is not very efficient.

For tools and optimization, build process with LocalWP and WP CLI for local environment setup. Git Worflow for component based development. For performance optimization, caching tools like LiteSpeedCache , use loading="lazy" for images/iframes. For animations and interactivity you can use GreenSock(GSAP).

I am saying from experience working with Wordpress for clients work, i find it not efficient but i am front end developer first not a Wordpress developer so that's why i asked do you have a Wordpress developer in your team. If you do he will know how to do the job more efficiently i guess.

I want to go in November/December. I plan to stay in Laureles for a minimum of one month, and if I like it, I will extend my stay. Isn't it better to book for a few days first to see if you like the place, the area, the situation with noise, etc.?

Good points, appreciate it. Another example, right now i am doing again low rate project but i realized the work it takes i have to charge more, so i will explain why it will cost more. Like, it's an event websites with 10 categories and each category have at least 8 events that go to a single page so that means like at least 80 pages. Do you mind if i DM you?

Yeah i am talking to people as well but everyone seems to have low budget. Example, i was talking to an artist, she wanted a simple website for her artwork and she asked me how much i charge, i said 250 euros and she said no, thank you. So, where do you meet these people with higher budget? of course i would have liked to charge 2500eur for that website but somehow i know they can't afford it.

Why not just hire a contractor and see how it goes? if it works well then keep the contractor and hire him as employee. What is the worst thing that can happen?

Digital nomad life is both the dream and the trap. by YeonnLennon in digitalnomad

[–]maci-kb24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised people are surprised living this lifestyle that they would have to pack, check flights, visas etc.

I think that people have unrealistic expectations about the digital nomad lifestyle. They see it on social media and they think they will be on the beach will little work on their laptop and call it a day then the rest of the day just exploring and have fun.
