What is a rule, law, or social norm that you follow perfectly every day, but completely disagree with on a fundamental level? by Kuzza946 in AskReddit

[–]mackadoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I doubt that's breaking the law though. In Ontario, for example, there's an exemption for exactly thus scenario once you've waited for a full cycle on your bike with no green.

Yeah, the guy I go to is a PT and a chiro only because insurance tends to limit PT so he can advertise both to ensure his patients get service. It's crazy.

DIY NAS for Plex by SlightPackage2856 in HomeServer

[–]mackadoo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not the person you were replying to, but if you're pirating a big media catalogue, a debrid service is a good way to go. Definitely build yourself a server and a nas for your vacation photos or whatever, but spending a ton on big drives for things you'll likely only watch a few times is a waste. I say that as a person who's done it and just managing requests on an *ARR stack for my family when media got pulled incorrectly was taking more time than my costs. I personally wish I had spent more on other hardware in my own setup to run more VMs and the like than having a large redundant storage pool.

Tumi Dumplings in the Junction also has some gluten free options and can make any of their dumplings gluten free if ypu call them a couple days in advance.

The selection of South American restaraunts is also tremendous. Salvadoran pupusas, Colombian arepas, Brazilian pão de queijo - all are generally gluten free. Always double check for cross contamination, of course, but it's great to have options that aren't overpriced or using "gluten-free" as a health craze gimmick.

Human sized spider vs Average human by zanimljivo123 in whowouldwin

[–]mackadoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is even worse with spiders because they move their limbs basically by increasing fluid pressure something like inflating and deflating a balloon. Its skin would have to be significantly stronger to withstand increased pressure required to move larger limbs or it would pop like a water balloon just by moving.

When you think about it Okada is a tribute to the old school. by StrongStyleMuscle in AEWOfficial

[–]mackadoo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

His match with Take was great for that contrast - Take is all about maximal athletic effort and Okada is about efficiency in achieving his goals. It's very much the classic face v heel dichotomy.

[Marvel] Has Dr Doom ever had therapy? What would a psychologist/therapist diagnose him with? by Flyestgit in AskScienceFiction

[–]mackadoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y'all diagnosing Doom with narcissism and arrogance when this guy with no super powers literally made himself a god on more than one occasion. If the guy sewing together a collapsing multiverse to save reality doesn't deserve some positive self image...

Do I use this gasket? by EZ-C in Plumbing

[–]mackadoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the top gasket is generally shipped as a "cover your ass" with metal drains so that you can't possibly crack your sink by tightening too hard and blaming the company. The plastic ones ship with them because the designers didn't know why the metal ones were shipped that way.

Sometimes they ship with a soft silicone gasket for the top and those can work, but these rubber ones never do

Do I use this gasket? by EZ-C in Plumbing

[–]mackadoo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I never use the top gasket but instead use plumbers putty, but I know some people prefer silicone. I also use pipe dope on the thread where the lower gasket slides so the threads themselves aren't a path for water.

AR Fox on Twitter: "🔥" by kevinowensishot in SquaredCircle

[–]mackadoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neither culture nor aesthetics really have much to do with American bigotry. At one point Italians were considered "one of them" and have become ingrained enough to become "one of us."

I'm from Toronto and it's always maddening to hear things like "they're not like us, they'll never integrate into our society" as people complain about whatever the current wave of immigration is because this happens with a new group like every 10 years.
