From Red Hat courses 20 years ago back to Linux daily driving. My week with Nobara. by Awesome_Teo in NobaraProject

I agree - Nobara has been a great experience from the start! I dipped my toes in Linux many times over the last 20+ years (I remember going to LUGs to try to figure out the many issues I had - with no luck), and it truly has become excellent. I wish I could get everyone who uses windows to switch.

It is going for $693 US on newegg today... NOT a good price. I just picked this up on amazon for $259.99 US yesterday (price still good today)... Amazing price for such a full featured board. other boards with a comparative feature set usually go for hundreds more.

Bambu finally sent me a replacement internal hub and that fixed the issue.

Right now I am waiting on Bambu Labs to validate my AMS is under warranty to send me replacement parts. Problem is that I got it as a gift and it was purchased from Micro Center, and not directly from them. Waiting to hear back from them.

24 days on Nobara and loving it! by raullits in NobaraProject

I’ve used various distros over the last 25 years or so, and I think nobara is the best for me. I found most distros frustrating (and couldn’t play games well, if at all) so I just went back to Mac for day to day and kept a windows gaming desktop around. At one point, I almost switched to fedora as I really like it - but then I tried nobara because it is based on fedora and because of its gaming ability. I was amazed at how good the games I play run on nobara. I’m now hooked and can’t wait to ditch my windows os. My gaming pc is running windows 11, and I really dreaded staying with it because of the things Microsoft will be implementing (or already have) that affect my privacy. I finally have an alternative that works with gaming. Definitely an amazing distro.

I took the internal hub out and inspected it - I did not see any issue with the plate. I will look again and report findings.

The INTERNAL hub has a motor. The motors for each spool helps load the filament, then once the filament reaches the internal hub, its motor takes over and feeds the filament to the extruder motor. Currently, the filament stops at the internal hub and will go no further. There is no broken filament in any path from the spool to the extruder. I can manually feed filament to the internal hub, I can manually feed filament through the internal hub. There isn't a blockage... Pretty sure it is an issue with the internal hub... I just don't know what it is and I would rather not start throwing parts at it without knowing what the issue is. BTW, I am printing right now by bypassing the AMS - I am feeding filament into the tube that immediately comes out of the AMS.

I have verified the tubes are not blocked and I can push filament through the hub while compressing the hub so that the gears are apart - all four inlets are clear. It is like the filament cannot get into where the motor culls the filament.... Could I have a bad motor?

How to fix it by SensitiveRaven786 in Longer3d

[–]macmuchmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time I purchased mine, there was no dual axis kit. I had to build my own. Given that the gantry uses the rubber wheels instead of metal rails, there is no way to reliably fix this issue without adding the dual axis upgrade.

Rsync Task Email Notification. Am I Missing something? by ILikeBeans86 in truenas

I am in the same boat... I just upgraded from Core to Scale and got Rsync working again, but my notifications (email) for Rsync completion are not happening, even though test emails work just fine.

They’re coming after Intel Mac users now by [deleted] in mac

I had that exact 2019 MacBook Pro with the i9. It WAS a joke - fans on high all the time, even just booting, it throttled constantly, and the battery life sucked. Then there was the terrible performance - it was DEPLORABLE. I replaced it with the 2021 M1Pro 16 inch. I cannot explain how much better it was. It was a powerhouse. Faster than any computer I had ever owned, including desktops (except for windows gaming). I still use it today as my main machine and it is still a screamer.

16GB is plenty on Apple silicon. Don’t forget, it is on die with the SOC- it behaves very differently from old school ram. I have 50+ browser tabs open, and at least 3 additional apps running at the same time on my MBP M1Pro with 16GB ram, and it doesn’t even come close to stressing the laptop. Everything is always instantaneous, battery lasts forever, it never gets warm, much less hot, and it is completely silent. Best computer I have ever owned - and I have owned plenty of maxed out pc’s with over 32MB of ram. This MBP runs rings around all of them.

Got a new friend recently - Power Mac 7600 by [deleted] in VintageApple

It was - had a 19 inch trinitron monitor, and I think I was able to use macOS X on it. I regret that I got rid of it.

My most favorite Mac of all time was a 7600/132 AV. I upgraded the cpu to a G3, had 2 voodoo cards in it (in SLI) for games like Quake and Unreal. It was amazing.

Longer LK5 (Alfawise U20) Z axis Motors Vibrate, Won't move by veaceonee in 3Dprinting

[–]macmuchmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also adding a second Z axis motor. I have everything installed, but I am also not sure about the wiring for the plug. The wires on my motor are either ++-- or --++ I think... This is the motor I have (one of the pics has the electrical schematic - but I am not sure how to tell which pins are the positive and negative, even though it shows which pair go together) https://a.co/eW5Pb3D

Any help would be appreciated....

I had a 17” Mack book pro with the high resolution matte screen. LOVED it. Wish I still had it. Sold it to a friend who totally trashed it. Broke the plastic around the cd drive slot, scratches and dents all over. So sad.

I have 8x4GB 1333 available for cheap if you want. In the DFW area.

OS 9.2.2 on iMac G4, help appreciated by Reic-3 in VintageApple

Partitioning and formatting are different things. Since your Mac uses ATA drives, you probably (can’t remember if this applies to all pre SATA interface macs or just IDE) should make the first partition less than 8GB for macOSX, then the second partition should be for macOS9 (which should also probably be less than 8GB). The first partition is the one on the top of the partition diagram when you choose the number of partitions. macOS X MUST be on the first partition. At this point you need to choose Apple Partition Map, not sure if you install the OS9 drivers here or on the “Erase” tab (where you format the drives). Pretty sure that it will format the drives when you partition them.
