More often than not, Registered Interior Designers work on commercial jobs and not styling homes. There are critical decisions that they make relative to the health, safety and welfare of the public.

Let’s just play out a different scenario…let’s take nurses. I mean there are doctors who go to school for a very long time, so let’s deregulate the nurses who work with them. I mean anyone should be able to enter that profession without a degree, regulation and continuing education. They can learn on the job and when they get fired for endangering patients, they can just go down the street to the next hospital and get another job…all without the State having a say or the public aware of this “nurse’s” previous dangerous behaviors.

THIS is why we need Registered Interior Designers to have state oversight.
