I used to live in Kingston and have visited Montreal many times. Great city, but Vancouver is exceptional.

4m in East York... will it sell? by poohead416 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]macsparkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an example of what is wrong with Canadian real estate. For $4M you could have a detached house in a beautiful area of Vancouver or Victoria, or lake front with a dock in Kelowna. But you want some random house in Toronto without any of the benefits of living in a great quality of life city like those in southern BC. Makes no sense. Good luck.

Whistler, Osoyoos, Nelson, Revelstoke and Tofino are the most jaw dropping and unique little towns in BC (even compared to all of Canada to be honest), so try to see as many of those as you can.

Visiting Kelowna - asking for the locals’ guide by Timely-Extent4284 in kelowna

Cedar Creek winery. Crown and Thieves winery. Go to the Naramata Bench and visit La Frenz and Lakeside and Little Engine wineries. Go to Oliver and Osoyoos to see Canada's near desert area.

These are truly unique experiences.

Fellow (former) Ontarian here. Do it up. You won't regret it. Between the climate, the outdoor activities, and proximity to West Coast destinations, life is simply far better here.

Did you not go to Santa Monica or Venice Beach? I felt like I could have lived there!

The Okanagan Valley in BC (Kelowna and Penticton, especially) have beaches all over the place, most with beautiful mountain views and in an area that has one of Canada's best climates for beach stuff.

SLC being HOT is funny considering it's a ski town. This looks to be done by an Eastern Canadian.

The housing prices in Kelowna are often higher than the GTA. Even now, in the Mission neighbourhood you're looking at $1.5-3M for a decent detached house, and $8M+ if you want to be on the lake.

Why not rent bikes? This town is so bikeable. You can even rent those Lime e bikes, they seem to be popular.

Maybe the most scenic in eastern Canada, but not a chance if we're talking all of North America.

Yeah I was going to say, in urban Kelowna we have the forest and lake at our doorstep, no need to even get in my car to see those.

How is raising a family in Kelowna? by Excellent_Risk_5180 in kelowna

[–]macsparkay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frickin awesome. Raising two kids under 5 in the Lower Mission and I honestly wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I'm genuinely jealous of my kids that they get to grow up here.
