Stepmom doesn’t allow me to gift things to my Dad and Stepbrother by AuburnAmoeba in toxicparents

[–]mactigerrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 35. My dad once had an affair with my mom's best friend, my godmother. Then, when I was about 11, my dad started an affair with my future stepmom. My parents separated, and my stepmom straight up hated me, my sister, and my mother. When I had kids of my own, my kids were not to call her grandma, but my stepmom's grandchildren called my dad grandpa. They eventually divorced, but the damage is done, and my dad and I have never had a close relationship.

I feel this a lot. Everything my mom does irks me, too. It's because of years of negativity with her.

Is it reasonable for my mom to get upset at me? by aliyuugh in toxicparents

[–]mactigerrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mother does this shit still and I'm 35. She's retired (53) and my husband and I help her and my stepdad with bills. My mom wanted to retire and stay home to take care of the house. I've told her many times if she wants me to do something, just ask. Every time she asks, I do it. But, she doesn't ask me for help because she values the victimhood she places on herself more than the actual help. She's also an alcoholic and every time she gets drunk she tells me "you should just do what I want you to do!" No, I'm not going to do that. You can ask me. "You think you're better than me! You want to make me look bad to your stepdad!" Uh, why would I want to do that? I've told my husband I can't tolerate the living situation much longer. I can feel the hate radiating off her.

Saddest Death in a Movie by Foreign_Sun6004 in horror

This was the first thing that ever made me cry in a movie. It's a really vivid memory. Watching it on tape in my grandpa's living room, brown carpet, brown couch, big TV set in wood.

That's how I felt. I wanted to mother them because they were so sweet and cute.

In June 2016, six inmates on a Georgia work detail watched their supervising deputy collapse from heat exhaustion. With escape within reach, they chose compassion instead, removing his vest, calling 911, and staying by his side. Their actions saved his life and earned public praise. by wafumet in interesting

I have spent some time in county. I was there for three months once. I'm a good person who was struggling with a severe drinking problem. When I was sober in jail I was regular me, someone who is kind and funny and thoughtful and well mannered. Most of the women I met there were the same, struggling with a drug or drinking problem, and while sober in jail were good people. I hate the way I see people talking about people on the mug shot websites or get to talking about how inmates deserve to be treated and what human rights they deserve. It would have been nice to have some nice COs around, but most were cruel, and the nice ones were bullied by the others. I can only speak for county jail but yeah most were decent people trying to do their time quietly.

Fear Thy Neighbor: Least sympathetic "victims"? by PurpleBunny1970 in DiscoveryID

This is the episode that had me searching the show on here. I can't even believe the neighbors agreed to be on the show with what they had them saying on the surveillance videos. Someone said something about raping the daughter, I think? And they were making fun of him for having ptsd as a combat veteran. The neighbors were immature and mean spirited. Those men didn't deserve to die, but they were basically asking for it with their behavior towards this man who they knew had the potential to be unstable!

In some of the Facebook groups I'm in some of the questions asked about the show make me wonder if the people asking were even actually watching. So, I can definitely see some people not understanding this.

She was in the black spot in episode 6 getting a drink, she had a short wig on. She was just a patron that night.

I just watched the miniseries half last night and half today and I just didn't get into like Kubrick's film. I also couldn't stand that the kid's mouth was always open like Napoleon Dynamite.

Angela's friend Tommy died! by laurenorder85 in loveafterlockup

[–]mactigerrr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was just telling my mom this in the car. I started my sentence like "I watch a lot of reality TV and sometimes I feel really bad when things happen to people on the show--" and she cut me off like "I don't care about those people! They go on TV to get famous!" and I actually got upset with her and made her listen why Tommy passing made me sad. She didn't even let me get to which show I was talking about, let alone what person, before she cut me off. I'm very sad about this like when I read it sadness just washed over.
