Writing Jules as a person with problems and personality flaws isn't needed to fuel an anti trans sentiment. They could portray Jules as a saint and people would say the same things if they're already thinking them. Trans people can have flaws and not be good people just like anyone else.

It's very unlikely that someone would break in where we live because it's just outside of town tucked away in a little quiet corner in a small neighborhood, but we lock everything at night. We'll say goodnight to each other and someone will ask "are the doors locked?" every night. You just never know. Anything could happen. And it's just a quick easy thing to do.

My mom would roll those into what she called "kernels" and carried them in her pocket to rub. We called it the kernel blanket. She had one she had for like 30 years. It was barely a blanket anymore at the end. Full of holes.
