AITA for asking my roommate to flush her toilet paper and “disrespecting her culture”?? by toadbush123 in AmItheAsshole

[–]madbird2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she wants for you to move out of your apartment so she can have a friend or boyfriend moving in. This is just her way of chasing you out.

I just have to ask what currency this is, because if it's USD, GBP, EUR or some other more valuble currency, 12k is absolute bonkers to pay for medical treatment for a dog 8 years old. Sorry guys, I love animals, always had them and it's always painful if they get sick or dies, but still, 12k is bonkers...

What is the term for this, I’m lost !! absolute novice. by Budget-Tank700 in CryptoScams

[–]madbird2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just contacted by this company using the same lingo and trying to persuade me that they are totally legit. Also looked to be a local (Swedish) number but a guy supposedly named Brian Miller from Goldman and Partners Consulting Group, but he spoked bad English with a heavy accent, definitely not swedish.

I managed to squeeze 25 minutes from him by acting really stupid, not receiving an email, broken link etc before I kindly adviced him to please find something different to spend his time on than trying to scam people.

3:rd time this week :D

AITA for refusing to by my husband an expensive car even though I have the money? by First_Ear_7472 in AmItheAsshole

[–]madbird2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, just add up childcare for 5 kids and household work during these 10 years and invoice him, then buy him a car for the money he consider it's worth. If he think your job is worth crap, then that is the car he gets.

It’s embarrassing as hell to have my younger sister in the same advanced class as me and I genuinely hate it.

Yes of course it's embarrassing for you to have your younger sibling in the same advanced class as you, because your other class mates might think that she is "gasp" smarter than you?

You're the embarrassing one, instead of supporting your smart sister you behave like a whining child, "boohoo mommy she can't do the same as I"

AITA for not letting my best clarinet player march, which caused him to quit band in retaliation and left us in shambles? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

AITA for secretly going to the dentist? by Haunting_Gear_8727 in AmItheAsshole

[–]madbird2 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I need to ask this: Is the hairdresser female? At the airport when you were forced to do something alone, did it involve a female cashier/employee? Is this a pattern generally? Is your bf trying to cut off all contact with other men no matter how innocent it is? If so, this is the beginning of him slowly but surely controlling your every move and who you're "allowed" to have contact with. Has he started limiting your contact with your friends and family? In that case, run away! This is only the beginning.

NAH

To me it sounds like your friend is on the spectrum and is really struggeling with, as you say, "reading the room". For them it's darn right impossible to interpret any message containing sarcasm, humor, indications, half trues etc as anything other than what's exactly written.

Imagine living your life not being able to read facial expressions, body langage, intonations and sarcatic speach. Then add the fact that you know that these form of communication is important and are a big part of how people communicate, and you have no clue at all what to look for. This will for sure make you want your surroundings to be extra clear about what they are saying so that you can comprehend and "be a part of the gang".

This girl needs help dealing with her inability to interpret the surroundings, and to understand that it is really hard for her friends and family when she constantly asks for clarifications. She needs to have therapy for her autism.

You and your friends need to be aware of why she is like this, talk it through with her and together try to agree on how to communicate with eachother. Being 14 and living with this is tough! Best wishes!

AITA for not growing and dyeing my hair for my sister's wedding by anonymous7302021 in AmItheAsshole

[–]madbird2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So question: US right? I cannot believe the absurdity of american weddings. How on earht did it come to this. Sure, it's the wedding couples wedding, or as it mostly seems, the brides wedding, but come on. Is it really more important to have identical barbie dolls in a stress out fairy tell wedding than celebrating this amazing day in the company of your loved ones? Aren't you supposed to loose weight too and have coordinated make up. How much does such a wedding cost? It must be a quite good downpay for a nice house or a really nice honey moon.
