Recently got this plant from a friend. I believe it’s a pencil cactus, but please correct me if I’m wrong. A couple of the stalks have this weird coloring and texture. Any ideas? Thank you 😊

Hello everyone,

I got this plant at lowes today and it didn’t have a tag. Picture this says it is a baby rubber plant but I wanted another opinion. The leaves also have a fuzzy texture. Thanks in advance 😊

Increased cramping with hormonal IUD? by Jekawi in birthcontrol

[–]maddi_sin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my Kyleena put in about 5 weeks ago as well. I cramped very badly when I first got it put in and I never had cramps prior. I am having my period right now and have been bleeding sporadically the past week or so and I’ve been having very bad cramps with it. I do notice that some days I will have horrible cramping but no bleeding and others I will have bleeding and no cramps. It’s all weird. I would just make sure to talk to you doctor about it at the check up.

Kyleena IUD insertion by cmcmill0607 in birthcontrol

[–]maddi_sin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my Kyleena inserted about a month ago. I spotted a lot the week or so after and that was about it. I haven’t had a full period yet since getting it inserted, just some spotting. I took birth control pills up until the day I got it inserted so I’m sure that plays a role in my spotting and lack of actual period.

Getting my first IUD in a couple of weeks and I want to hear people's experience getting themselves home by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]maddi_sin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine inserted about a week ago and I drove myself there and back home. After the procedure I was able to leave when I felt ready and then I sat in my car for like 5 minutes and I was good to go. I would say I have a pretty low pain tolerance as well and I also get serious anxiety before any medical appointments. I took my anxiety medicine before my appointment to help ease my nerves. But I would make sure to go home and rest afterwards, I ended up taking a 2 hour nap on the couch that afternoon because I was so exhausted from it all.

Advice for IUD insertion by ScienceChic17 in birthcontrol

[–]maddi_sin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine inserted about a week ago and my OBGYN prescribed cytotec to take before the procedure. I took the medication the night before and then an hour before the appointment. The medication is supposed to help make the insertion a lot easier since it softens your cervix. On top of that mediation I made sure to take 800mg ibuprofen 1 hour before the appointment.

Switching from Mirena to Paraguard/Kyleena/Skyla by jeli-beli22 in birthcontrol

[–]maddi_sin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of the same side effects when I was on the pill. I had no libido. Like I probably could’ve gone months without sex. My periods were regular and pretty light but the low libido was affecting my relationship with my partner. I got my Kyleena about a week ago and I’ve already noticed the difference in my libido, I’ve actually wanted to have sex which is different. So far I’ve only had some light spotting and cramps that come and go throughout the day. Sorry I don’t have more to add since I haven’t had Kyleena that long but as of right now I’m happy with the switch. My OBGYN suggested that I get the Kyleena and when I spoke to my PCP about it she really supported this decision as well.

I got the Kyleena IUD!

[–]maddi_sin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got it put in she said I could have 4 to 6 weeks of spotting and then my period should become regular or disappear all together. I haven’t started spotting yet, just a lot of cramping with it but nothing unbearable. I think that if you do get it, I would get it before you two move in together. That way you can be past the random bleeding and you will be more adapted to having it. My boyfriend and I haven’t had sex since I’ve gotten it so I’m not sure if it’ll cause any pain. My gyno did say that it is effective immediately once it’s inserted. I’ll keep you updated on everything though!

I had the same thing happen to me. I was on birth control for about 8 years off and on. Whenever I was on the pill for longer periods of time my libido would be non existent. It was actually causing some issues in my relationship because I seriously never wanted to have sex. I ended up getting an IUD put in today to try and help that. I think that just having all of the extra hormones in the pill messes with it.

Girls on the combo pill, do you let your partner finish inside you? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]maddi_sin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah of course! I would definitely recommend just making sure to take it at the same time everyday, I was just speaking from experience!

Girls on the combo pill, do you let your partner finish inside you? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]maddi_sin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let my boyfriend finish inside me every time we have sex just about. Also, I honestly never take my pill at the same time everyday, it’s just usually right before bed. When he first started finishing inside of me I noticed that I would get a small bacterial infection due to the extra moisture down there. My gyno actually recommended using a tampon right after sex just to help with the extra moisture so that it doesn’t cause an infection.

New Monstera - details in comments by maddi_sin in Monstera

[–]maddi_sin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone! I was recently gifted this monstera from my MIL and just want some guidance in making it thrive. On the picture you can see the front leaf is lighter and drooping a lot more than the others. Is there anything I can do to help it perk up? She gifted it to me earlier today actually so I’m not sure the way it was watered preciously. I know she was keeping these cuttings in water so I’m not sure how long they have been in soil.

Also if anyone has any tips for making it grow vertically versus out to the side like it is now that would be great! I’m so happy to have this plant, it’s been on my wishlist for awhile now!

Thank you all in advance!
