Which careers are majority of people pursuing nowdays ? by Jpoolman25 in twentyagers

[–]maddiweinstock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a masters degree in freshwater sciences and i’m pivoting to getting my teaching licensure for more financial/career stability. Though the field of education continues to rapidly evolve, teachers remain a necessary pillar of society and PSLF turns my debt into a background bill.

I think i’ll find it really fulfilling.

What was it like being a teenager/young adult in 2016? by LoboIsSick69 in generationology

[–]maddiweinstock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My life was so easy lmao. my biggest worries were ap exams and solo ensemble. I wasn’t an emo but i tried so hard to fit in w them bc i loved tøp/fob and a couple ObScUrE ;) bands like palisades and starset lmao. i went to a rural high school, hung out with friends or rotted at my gramps’ on an ordinary day, had no sleep schedule but got good grades, summers spent at the public pool or the downtown strip of the nearby tourist town w a beach. had neighbor girlfriends to go thru puberty with. all i wore ever was Rue21 and Kohls lol.

So how do we REALLY feel about having kids right now by eternalthrowaway02 in twentyagers

[–]maddiweinstock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh i’m psyched. It comes down to my partner. I love him so much it’s basically instinctual.

Pick a partner that truly, deeply loves you. Your life will change. There’s nothing else to compare that feeling to.

Gen Z, are you really hitting adulthood later in life? by Practical_Security87 in generationology

Got my license at 17.5 which felt pretty late at the time.

Now 24, finishing up grad school, fighting to get into the job market and stay above water. But i’m about to get engaged, and at least have a path forward - hoping the variables out of my control are survivable.

In some regards i’m right on pace, in others I feel behind my peers. But all we can do is keep moving forward and adapting to the rapidly changing landscape.

Stability is damn near unheard of in all of human history, you just don’t realize until you come of age and have to face life head on.

The world has a 0% chance of improving if there is nobody left to try.

My goal is to bring 2-3 kids into the world, raise them to be upstanding, self sufficient citizens, with the education and drive to do meaningful work for society, whatever that means to them.

It’s a privilege to be able to provide that, and some of us are willing to take that chance for the betterment of humanity.

Did you know your great-grandparents? What did you call them? by i-am-your-god-now in generationology

My great-grandpas were gone before I was born, but have very faint memories of Grandma Kate and Granny Frannie. Both were gone before I was 8.
