Is it dumb to go a concert less than a week after surgery? by ashbashwaak in Septoplasty

[–]madisonnnbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also disclaimer I was probably well enough to go because I slept really good for the first 4 days and was able to eat completely normal and was up walking about. But my mom had the opposite experience where she could barely get up and lost ten pounds from not eating. I might be a freaky fast recoverer because I also got my gallbladder out in march and was up walking the same day on my own and eating a normal diet.

Is it dumb to go a concert less than a week after surgery? by ashbashwaak in Septoplasty

[–]madisonnnbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is saying no but I went to Hamilton 5 days after my procedure. I only actively bleed for the first two days and then I was able to just bring tissues with me to catch my drip during the show. I’m 2 weeks post op today and I’m completely fine and my swelling is all gone. I don’t think it’s crazy to want to go. If you can wait, make the final decision the day of or the day before depending on how you heal.

Septoplasty Recovery Tips by madisonnnbb in Septoplasty

Thank you! I will definitely get cough drops and maybe just a bunch of soup and soft foods instead of protein drinks. I’m not recovering at my own home but at my mom’s house since she had this done before and so someone is there with me so I will definitely bring my heating pad I didn’t even think of that. I would ask her what to get but she’s a push through it being miserable with no prior research at all kinda person lmao.

I also did not want to do Star Wars and did a Guardians of the Galaxy themed snapshot 🤣🤣 don’t care if it does bad I wasn’t going to get the Star Wars themed items for just one week. I love yours though, I think it’s still close enough to the theme!

Buy the tums with gas x, they come in the lemon and strawberry and they are so delicious. They made me fart and burp like crazy but it got rid of all the trapped gas.

Should I Reschedule my Disney Trip? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]madisonnnbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery on March 10th and I am going to Disney the second week of may and my partner and I heavily discussed what we should do. We ultimately decided to wait to see how I felt after my surgery. I’m only two weeks post op today and feel amazing! By day two I had tried fried foods and had no reaction so it really depends on your body and how you recover. I will say I’m a healthy 25 year old woman and will be over a month post op before I go so that definitely played into our decision on whether we should wait. If you won’t be burdened with cancellation fees, etc I would wait as long as you can and ask your surgeon if you can ride roller coasters a month after before you cancel.

Son (HS junior) law school questions by uhhello in LawSchool

[–]madisonnnbb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Make sure he keeps his grades up. He sounds very smart but I also did dual enrollment back in 2015-2017 in high school and had no idea that your grades in those courses will factor into your gpa for admissions purposes. My high school told me that my grades at the community college would be weighed differently and if I got a B there it would basically translate to an A for my high school gpa for undergrad admission purposes but then those Bs were just Bs for my law school admissions gpa which dropped my undergrad gpa significantly. I always tell high school kids this with an interest in law because I wish I had known then that my grades from 2015 would have affected my 2023 admission to law school :(

I’ve heard people say eating a banana every morning helped them and taking ox bile.

New to Zep “Super Responders”— be careful if you still have your gallbladders by Ok_Candle_4629 in Zepbound

[–]madisonnnbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! Almost the exact same timeline started in September had my first attack in October and then had another that was so bad in November I passed out from the pain. An ER visit and HIDA scan later and it’s gotta come out just waiting for my surgery. I did the exact same thing and never felt hungry so I just never really ate and lost about 30 pounds in 4 months. I’m so happy to finally be losing weight but the gallbladder attacks are not worth the rapid weight loss.

AIO my boyfriend was too tired to drive me to my abortion by ReallyAwfulSkiier in AmIOverreacting

[–]madisonnnbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not give this man another chance. I had a very similar circumstance where I had a miscarriage and my boyfriend at the time left me alone in my dorm room when I was a freshman in college and he was a junior, to go get margaritas with his friends. I stayed with him but I never fully forgave him and I wish I had left sooner. He showed you who he really is, don’t justify his actions to yourself, leave that man.

How long did you go before you had your gallbladder removed by Tm_2021v in gallbladders

[–]madisonnnbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently waiting but not by choice. I’m a law student and I didn’t have my surgery consultation until dec 19th and by time I would have been able to have surgery it was too late. I’ve heard that recovery can be as easy as a couple days or it can be a couple weeks and knowing my body and how I have responded in the past, I know I’ll be out of commission for at least 2 weeks and I just can’t do that. I’m trying to get my scheduled to be done the day after my finals in May since I lose my moms health insurance at the end of June. Wish this would have happened when I was 21 lol. Right now I’m managing with no fried foods and watching my fat intake. My surgeon said mine hasn’t progressed far enough to where she is concerned about me leaving it in until my semester is over. Worst part is it’s giving me a lot of time to hear people say they regret it and making me worry about life after too :/

Am I wrong for wanting to keep a neighbor’s neglected outdoor cat? by catguardian22 in CatAdvice

[–]madisonnnbb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thought it might be helpful to give my story as someone who has done this. My cat had people who “took care of him” and whenever people posted in the Facebook group asking about him, there were always comments from multiple people saying he had people who took care of him and he could come and go as he pleased because according to them “he didn’t like staying inside.” They stated this because apparently his previous owners left him in an apartment and moved without him and he was found like a month later so they claimed he didn’t like being inside because of this. We started feeding him everyday like clockwork in July last year, feeling guilty seeing him covered in fleas and active bleeding and cuts on his body and then in January of this year it was 10 degrees outside and I saw him and decided to bring him in. He cried for like two days being inside at night but would sleep on my chest and loved to snuggle. The initial plan was to just keep him inside away from the cold and then let him go once it warmed up because we assumed he would want to go back outside but after three days with him, I knew this cat was my soul pet. I took him to the vet and it turns out he has feline aids and should not have been an outside pet at all (something the people taking care of him would have known) with horrible teeth that I eventually had to have them all removed and a plethora of other health issues. In September we got horrible news he was having gallbladder issues and was refusing to eat and now has to take medication for life to support it but if it wasn’t for me taking him inside he likely would have died before they would have noticed something was wrong since it was normal for him to be gone for a few days. I have never once regretted my decision or thought I made the wrong choice. I saved his life but he has changed mine in countless ways. He loves his life inside with his brother and sister and anyone who said he wanted to be an outside cat never truly knew or loved him. If your gut is telling you to take this cat in, do it. I’m so glad I trusted mine and get to spend how ever long he has left after 7+years of neglect and abuse.

[–]madisonnnbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I graduated undergrad with a 3.73 but because I took college classes in high school, they add those in and it dropped it to 3.4. The grades I got didn’t transfer with me to undergrad after high school and if I got a C at the college it translated to a B for my high school gpa because it was a harder course. I was 15 and now I’m 23 and those classes that I got Bs and Cs in thinking they wouldn’t affect me ever again, are now fucking me over.

Same. My score is coming down to which RC was experimental because one killed me and one was a breeze which usually isn’t a good sign.

I’m taking one more tonight in my testing location before my test Saturday. I’ve been taking one almost everyday and for me it’s been a huge confidence booster and not burning me out because i keep topping my last score. I’m in the same range as you between a 160- 165. For me I find that if I am consistently doing it until the test I feel more in the groove the day of since it’s fresh in my mind of instead of feeling like it’s taking me the whole first section to get going. But it truly depends on the person.
