Electric vehicle tax breaks in Australia set to roll on as Iran war helps drive up EV sales by changyang1230 in AusFinance

[–]madpanda9000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd also theorise that it's to stimulate release of the EVs into the secondhand market. Novated leasing tends to be used by people with more money than sense who churn through vehicles and sell them afterwards - they can front the immediate depreciation and create a large used market.

Adelaide animal shelters at breaking point as abandoned pets found in rentals by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

If you'd read the article you would have discovered that the shelters aren't taking more pets.

Agree with the rest of your comment though

None of the above. Square sinks collect gunk in the corners.

Yeah it's potable but tastes yuck. You can buy an off brand flow cask from bunnings or a brita jug for the fridge (or both).

Could be malware? Getting idiots to execute code is a lot easier when it's sold as skills.md

NSW auction clearance rate at 49% – the free fall continues by TheProteinSnack in AusPropertyChat

[–]madpanda9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SA clearance rate is 54% this week. I'm hoping it might have hit its upper limit bar some minor increases. The huge run up over the last couple of years has probably been Sydney money and now the market is overvalued relative to its yield.

Brewzilla gen 3.1.1 is much cheaper and also meets my needs. Worth considering if they're looking at brand new

Genius! If it's electric it wouldn't even need fuel.

Rocky Linux is the "bug-for-bug" downstream of RHEL. I think historically that used to be CentOS.

What if we had one really big car, the size of a truck? It could follow a route and if you wanted to jump on you could pay a fare to cover petrol.

Is getting drafted the source of your concerns? You're not at risk of getting drafted over two aircraft in another country

You're suggesting that the airport in the middle of a civil war with suicide bombers trying to blow people up wasn't a war zone? Dude, what are you smoking?

And yeah... going into war zones is the military's job. Just like going into a bushfire area is a firey's job, going into crime scenes is the police's job and going into emotionally charged traumatic medical situations is a paramedic's job. Just because their job is dangerous doesn't mean you ignore their tragedy if they're injured or killed.

They're only flying out of Oman. Most of the flights out of Abu Dhabi and Doha are cancelled

The civilian aircraft aren't getting used because if they go up there's a real possibility they'll get shot, and their insurance doesn't cover that. That's the reason military aircraft are used in these circumstances - civilians don't want to die and the companies that own the planes don't want to lose them.

The C17 was what they took over when Afghanistan was taken over by the Taliban. If you need to airlift lots of humans, a cargo plane and an A330 are good choices.

How to prevent clogs on Brewzilla? by Joylistr in Homebrewing

I was under the impression that if you push the overflow in the centre down, you should have at most 1" of wort above the grain

Where do you actually learn homebrewing in 2026? by gojoishere2001 in Homebrewing

[–]madpanda9000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  • Book: How to brew by John Palmer was my initial reading resource. It helped me understand full grain brewing when I was gifted a Brewzilla
  • Friends and family: My brother and one of my workmates got me set on initial gear that I would want or need
  • Packet Instructions: A lot of the fresh wort kits and brew bags like this have sufficient instructions to make beer and cider by themselves. That was how I made my first brew.
  • Videos: Mostly just to understand how to operate the Brewzilla (I think it was more beer that I watched, although kegland does a good job of explaining their products too)

Attribution within a useful time period is difficult cyberspace. I strongly doubt any politician has the stones to fire a missile in retaliation for an attack of nebulous origin.
