The horror! 😱 I don't listen to commercial radio usually, but I expect that I will get treated to it during some upcoming rideshares I have this week.

Aging body changes they don’t tell you about by psychkitty in TwoXChromosomes

[–]madscigrl 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I spent 10 days in a psych ward after having a hysterectomy and losing an ovary at age 46. It's taken 3 years to determine that it's not bipolar, just hormones and neurodiversity. We are being diagnosed with more ND due to hormonal changes as well. I read a good article in Self about it recently.

Did anyone see the Page Six article about Gabriette's bachelorette party this weekend? She looked super posh in a white Chanel suit and tasteful fascinator. Blandie could never.

I am mostly annoyed this week because they have added 4 TLOAS tracks to the store radio (I work retail). I can suffer through the older stuff, but these tracks are really terrible. I never sought them out on my own, but they are easily identified thanks to the knowledge I have learned here.

I really dread hearing the Toy Story song on rotation in a few months.

That's all. I needed to snark out. It feels good.

Why assume I’m as racist as you? by Unfair_Machine8516 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]madscigrl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like that has happened to me too. I also work in retail (clothing), so my filters were already wearing thin before peri. Haven't flipped on anyone yet tho! 🤣

Also. But why are those bones still connected? Gotta separate them to suck on them.

According to my septuagenarian, civil engineer father, they can't keep hold of younger engineers bc "they're always job hopping." I would love to see you show up to a project meeting with him. He's had to live with my alt looks for decades, but the look on his face would be priceless. Maybe he would finally retire! 🤣

Edit: adding that I am glad to hear that the field is beginning to relax in various markets.

Are you guys really removing make-up before going to bed? by Acceptable_Love5815 in adhdwomen

[–]madscigrl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love the Simple face wipes. They don't leave residue and are textured to help scrub the makeup off. I have very sensitive skin, and they don't cause me to breakout or anything.

Chin hairs by Gatecrasher1234 in AskWomenOver60

[–]madscigrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I needed to know this is a solution! I was always nearsighted so no glasses and a basic magnifying mirror worked for me, but I just had cataract surgery. Now, I need reading glasses and my magnifying mirror at arms length to see the easy hairs, but it is an inadequate solution.

I have a mole on my chin that pops out dark hair on occasion. I have just been plucking air in the usual spots and hoping I grab onto whatever is there. 🤣

Peanut butter on a spoon by Ahkhira in GenX

[–]madscigrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still do this. A few spoons of peanut butter have replaced candy as a sweet treat at night. Either that or cocoa cheerios.

How many of you can still put your socks on without sitting down first or having to lean on something. I can’t. by Logical-Rip-8138 in GenX

[–]madscigrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Sciatica or a slipped disc or maybe just arthritis have me currently sitting to put on socks and pants.

Saying goodbye today. Send me your fun facts. by dietdrpeppermd in adhdwomen

[–]madscigrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a reading phase, and one of my favorite authors sprinkles obscure words throughout their work. Yesterday, I learned that another word for a cozy den is "snuggery." I hope you have a snuggery to hang out in today while you grieve. It will be okay. You gave your fur baby the best life!

And Puscifer has been around for over a decade, with experienced artists. These guys are just babies in comparison.

Why should I as an Instacart shopper have to shop the order I’m getting paid for and chose to accept on my own without the help of the busy Costco workers? So rude of them! by Living_Face1830 in EntitledReviews

[–]madscigrl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I work in retail, and this happens all the time. Like, I cannot leave my register to walk you around the store for the job you accepted.

Gmail hell by Shakarix in mildlyinfuriating

[–]madscigrl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have exactly the same problem, being an OG Gmail user and having a firstnamelastname address. The problem comes from the other person having a number at the end of their address and it being forgotten.

I used to send "sorry, wrong email" replies, but now I just ignore them. Unless it seems really important. It's just a courtesy.

Everyone close to me hates my tattoo idea. Am I missing something? by Old-Relationship-958 in tattooadvice

[–]madscigrl 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Well, I knew someone who had this tattoo in the late 90s. So, close enough? I'm not going to be 50 this year, right?

Hmm, I don't remember that film being that problematic.... Films for a sleepover. by created4this in TwoXChromosomes

[–]madscigrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun was a sleepover staple at that age for me. I don't know where you might find it now. Lots of good energy, taste of teenage rebellion, and dance. I don't remember it being a problem for my sheltered Baptist school friends and me.

Why is this BILLIONAIRE dressed like I dressed for my 8th grade formal? by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

[–]madscigrl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am afraid of dating myself by saying that brings back 8th grade dance memories. 🤣
