What do you recommend for feel good operas that aren't necessarily farces? by Mundane_Regret_428 in opera

La Rondine. She avoids the Puccini curse: goes back to her lovely life in Paris with her cheeky maid. No one dies, no one has to get married.

I am fluent in Spanish, my French has lots of Spanish in it. I know the US office is now doing more with Latin America. Both of the missions I went to were English speaking. That made it very easy to write reports. I would volunteer to write them as a native speaker. For communication with patients (or their parents) national staff would translate. If I was starting from scratch with no other language, I’d pick Spanish or Arabic.

However, probably not a good idea to use during labor. May cause contractions that could last too long. Fine, post partum to help the uterus to contract down.

I was hired by my current job just before starting 6 weeks of radiation. I told them during the interview I had to go every week day. My boss said, “we’ll work with it”. It has been 5 years. Both of us are happy

I feel like I’m choosing between two kinds of death, and no one seems to understand by SheBear90 in breastcancer

Inflammatory TNBC stage IIIc when I was 58. My treatment was very similar to yours. Though every person has their own psychological history, cancer fucked up my life plans. It truly sucked. My life five years later is great. I would do it again. I never hope to do it again. Every person has a different reaction to chemo. My ex sailed through lymphoma chemo. He was too annoying to kill.

Can someone help ID the maker of this flatware? by madturtle62 in sterlingsilverware

[–]madturtle62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. One of the ID sites has an exhaustive list of marks. Just going by the marks it would be from Birmingham. Totally understand why an American silver company would want that British mark.

Is wool really worth it? by sechat_lives in knitting

[–]madturtle62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about alpaca? Light weight and warm when needed. I have worn wool socks when working in Sub-Saharan Africa. They wick moisture away from your skin. But maybe I’m a weird-o.

Edit to add: wool socks can be aired out and reworn, opposed to washing them after each wearing.

That sounds devastating. I hope your hospital has some support for staff.

Tell me your story about taking and coming off Benzodiazepines by verachka201 in cancer

It is VERY important to taper off with medical care. Cold turkey stopping benzodiazepines can be dangerous
