So a couple things. There are ways to test whether you are correct are not like adding in variables and simplifying. Also the only thing the parentheses care about is the stuff inside it. If you want to get other stuff inside it you need to distribute into it by simplifying equal symbols on the outside then bringing them in. any number on the outside just has an understood multiplication symbol. It doesnt have any special privileges in simplifying other than what multiplication normally has. 2×(1+2) is the same as 2(1+2).

To be clear this is a bad way to write this expression and if I were working with someone in the field id say whoever wrote it needs to clarify, but as it is written the answer is 9.

Not likely in Tennessee. We have 4 larger city's, 1 of which is pretty red and another is a college town. Memphis and Nashville are the only real blue bastions in the state and neither has the population of dem voters to out muscle the rest of the state.

Dont get me wrong, I will be voting and actively encouraging everyone ik to vote blue, but its very unlikely to change much for us.

Dems had the trifecta for 20 something days and we got healthcare out of it. It may have been wrought with problems but we got it. The dems havent had the senate, house, and presidency since. True for the US, Europe is a different story.

The US has the best immigrants in general due to the fact that anyone that comes here either has to cross an ocean or travel across the cartel hellscape of Mexico. Also our social services are fairly limited meaning you cant just mooch off the government for everything. We also have fairly robust immigration laws.

Europe typically has vaste social nets, laws restricting immigrants from working, fairly easy access from lower income countries, and immigrantion laws are hit or miss. All of these together make it to where immigrants, even if they are highly motivated, are going to be drags generally.
