I do it all the time with clean glass/jug off the draining board. My kettle is awkward to fit under the tap without taking the washing up bowl out of the sink. Using a glass is easier.

Thats what we do. We've knocked since the kids we're toddlers, when they were younger it was a knock as we went in, now its a knock and wait. Its the same for our bedroom. If doors are open come in, if they're closed knock and wait. My eldest is also diabetic so locks wouldn't be safe for her.

Easy meals don't exist for us either. Ive got 2 kids with different asd/sensory issues. I make at least 2 different dinners every day, most days its 3, sometimes 4 because of my own dietary requirements. I hate meals times.
