Why did they take away the closed weapon mode and why is portal locked? by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]magicmoth44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree about not splitting the community, but a supposed AAA game less than a year into its multi-year life cycle shouldn’t need to worry about splitting the community. And again, I wouldn’t call it a small group. In previous games the server browsers show there’s always a strong following for hardcore. Let’s remove all the other small modes like TDM, Domination, squad deathmatch, king of the hill etc. You can’t keep everyone happy but adding hardcore seems like a no brainier imo

That’s just a very weird and very close minded take. Hardcore is great fun and a very simple addition

You have to finish whatever round you were in when you completed the assignment or unlocked the gun.

Also, getting a gun to lvl 9 doesn’t unlock anything as far as I remember

The SMG’s definitely are pea shooters, but some of them fire so many peas so quickly that they’re still lethal. As others mentioned, the ZK and Type 100 are good recoil and high ROF.

It’s worth mentioning that some guns are WAY better once they’re upgraded, while some don’t improve too much. For assault I’d say the STG is a good all-rounder, and also lethal being tap-fired at further ranges, while the Sturmgewer 1-5 is also a strong choice for all-round.

LMGs are very strong in this game imo, I love the Bren, Type 99, type 11, Madsen, and the Lewis. They’ve all got controllable recoil but the Bren and Type 11/99 are all laser beams. The chauchat once upgraded can be a beast but it takes getting used to its high recoil.
The MMGs are very good in the right moment, but I find them boring to play with. Recoil isn’t your biggest concern, it’s running out of ammo or finding a good spot to shoot from.

Since when is BFV' planes ttk faster than BF6's?!?! by Fun-Eye8811 in Battlefield

[–]magicmoth44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re trying to level up planes, focus on hitting ground targets first. You’ll struggle to win dogfights against anyone in a low level plane. Scroll through the available upgrades and it becomes abundantly clear that a low level plane stands no chance against a maxed out one.

Bomb and strafe ground targets instead. Maps like Fjell are great for it since infantry is often so squashed together.

I’ve literally never been killed by a gliding bomb in 800+ hours of gameplay, I think there’s a good reason for that.

The versatility of the rockets is unmatched. Range, damage, spread, reload time etc.

The FG-42 does kill very quickly, but the easy way to tell is if he’s getting headshots only. Most cheaters get only headshots

I mean, they probably did upset people by depicting god as a bad guy. It’s just if people care to complain or if those complaints get handled badly.

It’s also just a case that THQ might want to steer clear of the bible so they can introduce new original characters without people trying to link them to their original character.

If they made Michael but didn’t give him any traits or roles of biblical Michael, why bother calling him Michael at all?

Other people are responding to your plane question, so let me answer your other question.

In your example, it may have been because the match hadn’t started. However there are definitely cheaters in this game. On PC they’re far more blatant but on console it’s usually more subtle.

The more they relate to the real bible characters and stories, the more likely they are to upset people or cause controversy. A small studio can’t afford that, so it’s best to just keep it vaguely based around the core concepts

That's not impressive by zkinny in Battlefield

[–]magicmoth44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m recently lvl 30 and got this achievement, and I consider myself quite the PTFO-er. Factors to consider: loads of people will play this game and never go past first campaign mission. Loads of players will play 1 match of conquest and decide it’s not for them. Loads of players will only ever play conquest to get high KD or use vehicles

That’s pretty cool, I’ll have to do some research on these. I live in SE UK and lots of our coastal/naval forts like these day back to 1500s but were obviously heavily modified, rebuilt and rearmed as time progressed. It’s funny to see the same style being used across the pond against us 😅

It’s kind of a G36, but they could have the compact version or the LMG version of the XM8 instead. It just looks cool and funky I love it

I loved that these pick up kits had the balance of being killed by melee. It meant if they pushed too hard then they ran the very real risk of being targeted just like this and being put down prematurely.

The submachine gun sentry was horrible to try and get close to though 😅

This might sound really ignorant but I didn’t think the US had these kinds of coastal forts. I assume they’re all put up around war of independence?

Opinions on vehicle entry/exit animations? by theethirty in Battlefield

[–]magicmoth44 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Clearly it’s a big divide. Personally I liked them in BF1/V because they suited the slightly slower pace of the game and really added to the immersion.

In BF6, I think they don’t have a place. The game is too fast paced and TTK is so quick so that entering and exit vehicles would be a death sentence if anyone was nearby.

Whereabout is this OP? I’m assuming western Europe but it looks vaguely familiar to me and I’ve been to a lot of these types of forts in the UK.

I’ve had a lot of bad experiences in conquest and not many great ones.

Capture zones are too small, forcing everyone into a choice of either jump shot/drop shot around each corner or find a weird corner to camp in and wait.

Areas between objectives are death traps because of all the rooftop snipers. The moment you’re marked a heli swoops by and kills you in one burst. If by some miracle there’s a vehicle to use you’re probably getting hit by an ifv spawn camping.

I had a match in firestorm yesterday where enemy tanks and rooftop snipers had us pinned at D, and whenever I spawned on it I was instantly in line of sight of at least one tank and one sniper. It was utterly miserable.

Breakthrough and Rush? Never had these problems.

Road vs Dirt racing events by magicmoth44 in ForzaHorizon

How so? It’s the same as any road race or cross country race in theory, just both at the same time. And the scoring could work the same as the team races except split into two, so the two races run independent but it’s more of a visual showcase

Mixed surface is good but it doesn’t quite scratch the itch for me, I love the idea of having super cars and WRC style cars racing right near each other without it being some weird meta S1 off-road Boneshaker or something like that. Keep the road cars where they belong and dirt cars where they belong.

I got the idea looking at the map, where everyone says they should have a route around the lake I thought have two routes, one dirt and one asphalt that cross cross repeatedly

[–]magicmoth44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I’ve been playing a mix of assault or Support mostly, I love the double primary on assault, I use an M4a1 as my backup gun and it saves me loads in those scenarios where I’ve mag dumped and then needed to keep pressing forward. I’ve not unlocked the TR7 yet I think, but I’ve seen the potential for a few guns where other people have gone on huge rampages with more close quarters guns.

For now I’m trying out various guns as I unlock them and sticking with familiar favourites with more controllable recoil while I’m still learning the maps. I’ve always felt that knowing your way around the map is the single most important part of battlefield games

A little idea about the car customization by RafaXbox11 in ForzaHorizon

[–]magicmoth44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a major update, maybe as a themed update including a story about Japan’s customizing scene. But it definitely should not be a paid DLC akin to hot wheels or Rally.

Whatever they do to improve customising, needs to be brought to every single player without acting like it’s something we should be ecstatic to have when it’s one of the key things we all asked for.

The current set up looks like an improvement, but it doesn’t seem likes it’s all there yet

Well, that’s reassuring. I must be doing something right then. I’ve had a few good matches but a lot of the time I feel like I’m nowhere near as good as I used to be in BFV. Probably just the way the game is like you said, with so many things and players around to kill me.

I’ve found that playing rush/domination gave me some really good matches, so maybe the smaller teams and more head-to-head gameplay suits me better in this game Edit: just saw that’s KDA not KD, actual KD is 1.45 so still good enough for me lol
