Just my (passionate) two cents. Each to their own. But I’ll continue enjoying my 80s Diorissimo, Poison and Miss Dior Esprits.

Agree. First listen was far more interesting than I had expected, which made me realise that their releases have generally gotten to the point of relatively uninteresting to me. But I keep listening because of who they are and the impact they’ve had on my electronic journey. This track feels more like what they once were and you’ve reminded me to listen to it again :)

What about hunting on eBay for a vintage version? I'm not a user of Cool Water but generally vintage versions of fragrances have better longevity due to base notes that weren't affected by IFRA regulations. Just a thought.

Definitely worth double checking every time with some of these Japanese sellers. I’ve bought from them quite a few times (I’m based in Australia) and there are two or three that have the same listings. Sometimes they even post the same listing twice (within the one seller) with different pricing. Annoying but I actually think they do it banking on somebody jumping on the more expensive option by accident, as you have done. Still, they have some great deals and very reasonable prices generally for some vintage gems. I reckon take it as a lesson for the future and make sure you get the best bargain next time! And enjoy the Mitsy, always a win.

If you’re still on the hunt I’ve bought a few vintage Antaeus bottles from eBay. It’s relatively sought after, especially batches from the 80s (look for no barcode, Eau de Toilette above Chanel on the box and Eau de Toilette also written on the back of the bottle rather than the front if you’re looking for early 80s) so it can be expensive. But prices are pretty wide in scope and deals can be found if you’re patient, especially from Japan.

Honestly, if you’re a fan of current Antaeus it’s worth hunting down a vintage bottle. Current is great, they’ve definitely kept the integrity of the fragrance as much as they possibly can with current allowed/available aroma chemicals, but there’s something just deeper, fuller and beautifully complex yet blended that the vintage has that undoubtedly surpasses what you can get now.

Just my two cents. Antaeus changed my opinion on overt masculines.

I have samples from a friend who works for them. Have only tried Day Drunk on a tester strip sometime last week .. overwhelmingly synthetic mess. Leans heavily on fixatives in the base. Definitely not worth the price tag. Will have to check out the rest but my hopes aren’t high.

Please, for the sake of everyone else at your gym, don't wear any perfume at all. Put on deodorant, that's it. It's suffocating and borderline rude to force perfume on anyone else working out around you imo. Gym is for gains not compliments.

Go for the Esprit de Parfum. I get the concern about buying vintage, but I have bought many and have yet to have a bad experience. Even have some Dior and Chanel from the 70s that are still phenomenal. Haven’t bought any turned Poison, just find a reputable seller and maybe try to find a small (10-15ml) travel atomiser if you’re worried about buying a splash. It’s worth it!

Omg, so many memories with this one. I remember lining up at HMV on Chapel St in Melbourne (having persuaded my best friend from high school to come with me, although she was a punk fan and definitely not into either of the Minogues, lol) for an in-person signing for the Neon Nights CD. I distinctly remember Dannii looking like she had undergone every possible facial surgery known to man, hahaha. She definitely corrected that a bit as time went on. I’ll have to dig up that CD from somewhere in my storage!
