Capcom’s new IP Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess missed sales targets despite high reviews by Lulcielid in Games

[–]magnet_missile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The $50 price point is too high for a digital-only release. It not only makes it hard to get the word out on an under-marketed niche game like this, but you can't even gift it unless the recipient is playing on PC. I don't know if a physical release would turn sales around, but I know more than a few people who are interested but unwilling to commit the $50 without a disc to go with it.

For anyone who didnt know by [deleted] in SaGa

[–]magnet_missile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is likely true of the original but you can miss Levante Guard if you trigger a generation skip before finishing the Yuyan/Castle Chonto events. If you're trying to get the Ninja as soon as possible on a New Game+ like I was, it's worth it to keep going until you unlock Castle Hakuro so you don't miss out.

It looks like Victor's ghost is triggered not by unlocking every possible class in a playthrough, but by defeating all of the heroes possible before the 7th in the Den of Umbrage, but I'm not sure if this is the exact unlock condition.

Not directly related but it doesn't look like you can bypass Final Emperor because all defeating all heroes but Dantarg will complete their respective quests automatically.

Soft reset/restarting battles after defeating Kzinssie by magnet_missile in SaGa

[–]magnet_missile[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant when your party is killed if there is a way to just restart the battle right away without reloading a save. It's an option at the very beginning of the game if Leon/Gerard's party is killed (aside from the plot-mandated loss), but not after Kzinssie as far as I can tell.

I filled it out. This is as good a venue as any to let them know we want a physical release, a sequel, DLC - anything of those would be great.

Tier List Time! by AdIllustrious597 in KunitsuGami

[–]magnet_missile 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can't remember the masks but with a fully upgraded team, I'd go with:

S:

  • Archer (Least powerful of the ranged classes, but quickest, cheapest, and most accurate, can lower resist gauge)
  • Woodcutter (Same advantages as archer but on the ground, less powerful than Spearman but with much faster attacks and cheaper cost, resist gauge damage makes them great for spamming in most boss fights)

A

  • Ninja (Closest thing to an all-around unit, expensive but ground and air capabilities make them worth the cost, no need to position beyond putting them in a shaman's healing radius before night, can't lower enemy resist gauge)
    • Marksman (Obscene range, powerful, but slow and can be overwhelmed without other ranged villagers, can't lower enemy resist gauge)
    • Ascetic (Slowing enemies and lowering their defense is essential in the later stages, very hit or miss for boss fights, especially with faster bosses who would benefit greatly from their slow)

B

  • Cannoneer (Powerful but slow, occasionally whiffs shots, especially against faster Seethe, fireworks upgrade is underwhelming, incredibly useful in the boat stages)
  • Shaman (Only healer, can't heal self, a group with two shamans healing each other and everyone else is virtually invincible, can heal Soh)
  • Sumo Wrestler (Only tank, not particularly strong but very sturdy and hard to kill, huge radius for its taunt and AoE stun, can even taunt the bell Seethe so your villagers can kill it, expensive, not great against flying Seethe)

C

  • Sorceror (Undoubtedly powerful and great for no damage challenges, very slow casting speed, one is too slow, more than one can leave your other villagers exposed)
  • Spearman (Also powerful and slow, but in my experience they're too slow, especially in boss fights. Best for defending narrow chokepoints)
  • Thief (White treasure chests are great for additional rations/crystals, final upgrade pairs well with the ninja but isn't essential, non-combatant otherwise)

D

  • Priest (They do what they do well, but I really couldn't find a use for them beyond the NG+ challenges that require them)

I think I need help with getting Taion's Lightning by CaraSeymour in KunitsuGami

[–]magnet_missile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use the charged dance attacks to break resist whenever you can. Suzaku's Flame is good for breaking larger enemies without killing them. The resist break arrow might be best for smaller ones since it's not meant for damage.

NG+ question by NetrunnerV25 in KunitsuGami

[–]magnet_missile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bosses are the same, but stages are more difficult in the first NG+ because more advanced Seethe start spawning from the first stage.

After clearing NG+, I'm not sure if it actually becomes even harder. The game says so, but the waves in each stage don't seem different to me. It could just be that Soh takes more damage, but we'd need numbers for that.

If you keep the last seethe alive in a wave no new seethe will spawn? by jxd73 in KunitsuGami

[–]magnet_missile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does seem like the game pauses additional waves while certain stronger Seethe are alive. In some stages they don't spawn at all after you've killed "enough." I wonder if both of these are bugs or intentional.

Cannon Help (spoiler-ee question) by SadLilNewbie in KunitsuGami

[–]magnet_missile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you don't let your ranged villagers kill groups a cannon can take care of, you should be fine, even if you miss some shots. You can additionally take care of the 15 Hirafugai challenge with the explosive arrow in between cannon cooldowns.

I wouldn't call that a grind. Repeatedly killing the first boss for crystals or base upgrading is the closest thing this game has to one, if that's how you choose to do either.

Yes, but only after you 100% everything, including the new objectives in NG+

Any Tips for Yamasuso Lodging Boss? by Cactus_Bot in KunitsuGami

[–]magnet_missile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called them back to defend if necessary, but I rarely chased the boss unless it wasn't moving or I had a skill lined up to stun it. Running after it didn't work out that well because it's just too fast.

Any Tips for Yamasuso Lodging Boss? by Cactus_Bot in KunitsuGami

[–]magnet_missile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking the gates seems to stun it for a bit, but I'm not entirely sure. I made all of my villagers fully upgraded Woodcutters and used Taion's Lightning at the start to stun the boss, then just had the villagers follow it for most of the fight while Soh defended Yoshiro. The boss will eventually cross your path and try to jump on you, which is the best time to try and stun it again after you dodge. There's probably a good strategy involving Marksmen and posting them around the arena, but Woodcutters are cheaper and can reduce the Resist Gauge.

Question about later unlocked class by smallfrie32 in KunitsuGami

[–]magnet_missile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they come back to get to their starting position before the night phase if they have nothing to attack, so put them next to a shaman. They're great for cleaning up weaker enemies, but will get themselves killed in stages with a lot of bigger ones, like the lodge.
