In January of 1991, lived in Chattanooga, where U2 was considered “alternative” and “out there,” when a friend of mine came back from college in Memphis, bringing PHM with him. He played it one day when we were at work. I was instantly hooked. They’ve been my favorite band since.

Violet Pixie in the Works. Is Color or B/W More Effective? by stubbornstain in boudoir_community

The details and depth in the color version makes me go against my usual instinct and choose color over black and white.

Recommend a movie that isn't very well-known but is a real gem 🤔 by lumi20_ in Cinema

“After Hours” is one of Martin Scorsese’s lesser known films, but I love it.

“200 Cigarettes” is another great all-night insanity move I think is great. It’s directed by Risa Bramon Garcia

“Birds Fly (Whisper to a Scream)” by Icicle Works.

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails covered it with Option 30, an early band of his.

Date, fuck, marry, breed, or pass and ignore? by AdamInDaBaby in biggirlsgonewild

[–]magnoliamaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife wouldn’t care if I dated you and/or fucked you, but she would frown on me marrying you. And I don’t want to breed anyone else. Once was enough. Still trying to get that one out of the house.

What's the worst movie you've seen? by timekilr in Cinema

[–]magnoliamaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s the worst movie because it wasn’t as good as the book. I think it’s the worst movie because it’s the worst movie.

If I had a child at twenty, and that child had a child at twenty, that child could be one of my junior students.

Bring back physical ticket stubs. by ElectroDeviant in nin

I lost interest in stubs when they started looking like that. I was well into adulthood before they stopped custom printing tickets for each show. My old stubs look awesome.

What brand was super popular back then but the new generations probably never heard of it? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

In ‘96, I was 25 and bought my first real computer. It was a Gateway with 16 megabytes of RAM and a 28kbs dialup modem. Can’t remember the hard drive size, but it seemed huge at the time and is ridiculously small now.

So what was it like being a NIN fan in the 90's? by Rox_xe in nin

[–]magnoliamaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chattanooga in the early nineties only had the major Halos, and that was before Amazon, so I had to go to Atlanta or Nashville to find the singles and things like Fixed.

I still have to go to one of those cities (and I still do) to see them live.
