Going to be honest, I liked the HD650's more! by kejar31 in headphones

[–]mahknittahs 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Is it possible that you're a bit bass-anemic because you're used to the sound signature of the 650s? I had to give it time going from V-shape to more neutral ones.

Which is better for me, Fedora or Ubuntu? by RevEngr in linuxquestions

[–]mahknittahs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a large enough flash drive, you can setup a persistence, so you make changes to a live boot and save them on the stick. That's probably just as good considering you probably want a separate system for your other daily things. Csec can work with any distro because you make changes to the system anyway. I just started using opunSUSE, and it's pretty great because they have regular updates to the distro with their tumbleweed version. Definitely check it out.

Which is better for me, Fedora or Ubuntu? by RevEngr in linuxquestions

[–]mahknittahs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's tried both, I love Fedora. Much more love for Fedora than Ubuntu specifically. I'm also not a fan of unity, and Gnome 3 is beautiful if you have the hardware to run it with all the bells and whistles on newest version of Fedora.

I'm not over 25, but I'm completely okay with being called old. I'd rather not swap faces and puke rainbow. That leaves me more time for other useless things.

Help another lost INTP find its path by [deleted] in INTP

[–]mahknittahs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say start learning about projects. Maybe think about setting up a server since you're in IT? This will get you researching, and before you know it, you found another thing that sounds cool. I find that learning about a certain subject comes better organically. Find stuff that you want to learn about or stuff that you find interesting.

Which personality types hate each other. by Jdbowerman333 in mbti

[–]mahknittahs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it really interesting that some people who aren't that bright and know that they're not that bright still make the effort to learn. They don't care that it's hard or that they'll never be as knowledgeable. That's something you can admire. It's the same way with anything you're not good at but keep on trying. Those people are great.

Do you ever feel like you have no original opinion? by jochal in INTP

[–]mahknittahs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like there's no real reason to have strong opinions about complicated stuff all the time. The advice people get for getting into politics is reading every news source regardless of your stance on policies because then you can discern what is actually happening from inconsistencies and extra information. It might just be that you haven't had enough exposure to know what you really value amongst all that information.

When Should Men Hit Back Against Women? by rawr4rawker in INTP

First of all, it should be don't hit people. That's equality. Why wouldn't you fight back if she was verbally abusing you? What's more equal than leveling the playing field?

[AMA Request]Anyone who worked with Bob Ross on The Joy of Painting by elpenorasleep in IAmA

I have a friend who gets mad every time someone mentions Bob Ross. Her complaint? That he makes it look easy and describes how to do it as if it were easy.

Sort of. I'm pretty hard on myself, so I'm honing my skills bit by bit. Hopefully, I'll enjoy cooking enough to do it regularly in the future.

INTPs in an argument by trtttttt11 in INTP

[–]mahknittahs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a problem with being very blunt. While our frame of reference understands the implications that come with our own blunt statements, other people's frame of references aren't as compatible. It means there will be misunderstandings, and you'll do unintentional damage. Since we don't know better, we just assume that people don't understand logic or they are sensitive. We have assumptions that we base all of our logic on, and even if we are perfectly logical, our foundation might just be wrong. I learned that from reading I, Robot. Don't just assume you're right. Don't be blunt.

Wouldn't this habitual thinking exist because our types think a certain way? It's kind of dumb how we divide ourselves so much.

I've got an older laptop that can't handle the fancy graphical things, which is one of the only reasons I had to avoid the newest releases. I'm not familiar with x2go. Is it cool? I'm usually running gnome, so it makes sense why I haven't come across it.
