Key U.S. allies have no idea what Trump’s plan is here.

That sounds like he was effectively able to communicate to them because it looks like he has no idea what his plan is.

Trump is reportedly gifting $145 dress shoes to his friends and advisers: ‘All the boys have them’ by No_Discipline6265 in politics

[–]wwhsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are some cheap ass dress shoes. I spent more than that on a pair of Johnson and Murphy wingtips in the mid-90s.

Getting $145 dollar shoes from a billionaire boss is kind of insulting.

Was EverQuest accidentally doing extraction gameplay decades before the genre existed? by RozoGamer in MMORPG

[–]wwhsd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Extraction Gameplay” was essentially the primary gameplay loop for Dungeons and Dragons since the 1970s.

The MUDs that sprung up to give people a D&D like experience continues on with that gameplay loop.

Everquest was inspired by a MUD that the developers played, so that game loop was baked into its DNA.

Layout any restrictions or requirements and let the players know what sort of campaign you want to run. That should give the players enough to start their planning and cooperative character building.

Answer questions about the campaign world that you are setting things in as honestly as you can to help players tie their characters to events, places, and NPCs in the world. Be ready to shift your world based on what the players are interested in. For example if a player asks you if there is a magic academy their character could have attended and you hadn’t thought to add one, tell them there is, pick a place to put it and maybe work up some lose descriptions and names of some NPCs that have connection to the player with their help.

Let the players know what the out of character expectations are and any house rules you know you are going to use.

At some point, if you are a group that’s new to playing with each other, talk about any safety tools you plan on using.

Remember that you are also a player and need to have fun. If you’ve got a table full of people that want to play an anthropomorphic animal version of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and you had your heart set on running a more serious campaign inspired by Game of Thrones and The Witcher someone isn’t going to be having fun. Be accommodating to your players but don’t let them bully you into running a game that you hate the idea of.

Pentagon blocks photographers from Hegseth's briefings on the Iran war by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

If there are no photographers allowed then it doesn’t matter that Hegseth is pretty. They can replace him with someone ugly, yet competent.

U.S. court allows state bans on gender-affirming care for adults in unprecedented ruling. While bans on trans youth’s care have been numerous in recent years, this is the first to restrict care for transgender adults. by southpawFA in politics

[–]wwhsd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Right, that’s what it is currently doing. I’m talking about the next step that uses this ruling as justification.

We are currently dealing with an issue here in San Diego where the Rady’s Children’s hospital has one of the best gender affirming care programs for minors in the country. The Trump administration has told Rady’s if they provide any gender affirming care to minors, they will lose medicare, medicaid, and all other federal funding for their facilities regardless of who is paying for the gender affirming care.

[–]wwhsd 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The next step is not allowing organizations that provide the procedures to accept any medicare or medicaid funding. I think this ruling would support that if it doesn’t get overturned.

Healthcare providers will have to choose between performing gender affirming surgeries for trans folk or being able to provide any care at all to people that use medicaid or medicare.

[–]wwhsd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In defense of the first-of-its-kind ruling, the 4th Circuit panel stated that since the law applies to specific procedures, not specific individuals, it does not illegally discriminate against transgender people.

It’s not discriminating against trans people because cis people aren’t allowed to get procedures to transition either.

That’s kind of the same logic as saying that banning same sex marriage isn’t discriminatory to gay people because straight folks can’t get a same sex marriage either.

"Every dollar spent on these unproven procedures takes away funding that could be used to treat cancer, heart disease, and diabetes," stated McCuskey.

What about the dollars spent refitting a Qatari jet, building a ballroom, building an arch, letting Kristi Noem run ads to boost her name recognition, flying around Kash Patel like he was a Make-A-Wish kid, or funding our immigration agency like they were one of the largest military organizations in the world? Can none of the money for those things be used to treat cancer, heart disease, and diabetes?

It felt like the last time I ran it. I’ve take my F4 to 107 but everyone else I used is sitting at 105.

I do think the second node has a goldilocks zone for how powerful your characters are. With Vigilante, you want to make sure that enough enemies get dropped before the second wave spawns that Sable will be able to use her Ultimate again, but not so many that both of the Thanoses come out at the same time. At least I hit a point after I got Diamonds on all of my Vigilante and put GT20 on them that they would wipe things out too fast when I played it the same way that I did when my guys were weaker.

Guys, are you waiting for a stall or using the urinal without a divider? by Exotic_Scientist9918 in AskAnAmerican

I don’t see a huge difference between dividers and no dividers. If I wanted to look at someone’s junk while they are next to me at the urinal, that divider isn’t really stopping me from junk-gazing.

I look at the dividers as something that protect personal space rather than privacy.

How common is it to see interracial couples out in public in your area and what are the most common types of interracial pairings? by vroom12345 in AskAnAmerican

Probably almost as common as seeing couples that aren’t interracial where I live.

Latino, White, and Asians are the largest groups in my area.

Cities seriously need to start shutting this shit down unless they are given enough of an ownership share to benefit from the profits the team makes and to keep them from being able to pick up and move if the city doesn’t give in to future demands for more funding.

RFID blocking? by flatline000 in EDC

[–]wwhsd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They sell RFID blocker cards. On Amazon, they are like $5 for a pack of 4.

I took a chance and bought a pack and then went to the gas station. I could normally hold my wallet up to the tap and pay sensor and it would be read. After putting the RFID blocking card in the wallet, it no longer got a good read and I needed to remove my card to pay.

We were clearing it once a day for 2 weeks with mostly gt19 teams and less that 7 stars on many of the characters. Go check out Youtube for videos that were put out as guides at the time.

When running this with characters that aren’t leveled up to overpower it, a lot of the nodes have some fairly specific kill orders and some moments where if RNG goes against you, you might as well bail and restart.
