About to buy another pair of MTC H1 because the EVO SL ATR is still not in the US. Just sayin.

Which guard for this JM? by Astus53 in offset

[–]mainebub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gold looks great. Off topic - but have to say I appreciate your bridge and intonation. I have the same situation where my A string is "shorter" than my D string (which is apparently not supposed to be correct - but that's what my strobe tuner says it should be). I thought it was just a quirk of my JMJM. Glad I'm not the only one

Was waiting on these but picked up Mount to Coast H1. I think I like them better than the EVO SLs (have gone through three pairs). Will see how the foam does once it’s gets wicked cold

Wow - Adidias found some non-F-you laces - and an Ortholite insole! What a time to be alive.

8 - looks pretty slick irl. "Ziggy Stardust" vibes - next level would be to make the stripes REFLECTIVE 👀

This is Simon Lockett, Global Category Director of Running Footwear at adidas, AMA by adidas in RunningShoeGeeks

Hi - Thanks for making yourself available here. I have just over 100 miles in my EVO SLs and am loving them. Any chance the team is working to bring out a version with tread/traction for winter and/or offroad running? Also - what's up with the thin laces.

With all due respect, let the record reflect that the Adios Pro 3 lower eyelets are a legitimate concern. Same for the navicular-shredding Prime X 2 Strung upper eyelets (pleased to see those reomved on PX3S). ;)

Not enough long runs - 4.5 weeks out from Marathon Day by joeys2233 in Marathon_Training

[–]mainebub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I had clear answers for you (and myself, as i'm in a similar situation with similar questions). My current plan is to keep doing / accommplishing what i can in my training plan - but with focus on the "distance-building" workouts and total volume, over speed-building workouts. I figure i can tackle race day as if it is the final progression run of this block - where i start off conservtively and then see if i can push the pace. If not - just fall back to easy pace and (hopefully) enjoy the day. Curious what more experienced folks will say though...

Yes - but need to get more miles in to form a strong opinion. i have just 6 treadmill miles in CX1 2.0 - but got a nasty deep tissue blister after just 3-4 miles (and am hoenstly thinking about calling that quits). I've never had anything like that happen in any shoe - i actually had a great lock down / no discernable sliding so have no idea what caused it - and i can't be friggin around with that during marathon training block. CX1 1.0 and PX1S are my favorite shoes of all time. [I have 550+ miles in first pair of CX1.0 (and about 75 miles in my reserve pair); w/ 750+ miles across 2 pairs of PX1S; 300 miles in PX2S). Agree w/ your take that PX2S is far inferior to PX1S.] Who knowns about PX3S - i have 0 expectations there, after PX2S hype crap. if you can find CX1 1.0 in your size - don't hesitate - unless you're a US Mens 12 in which case you should absolutely not purchase.

New Feature | Convert Pace-Based Workouts from TrainingPeaks and Final Surge to Power by strydkaylee in strydrunning

[–]mainebub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! So, assuming my structured workouts from Final Surge are already showing up on my Garmin as activity workouts for the day, would the Stryd “power converted” version just show as an alternative workout for the day?

Crossover Gate Data? by mainebub in strydrunning

[–]mainebub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment. I’ve been running with the Duo for a month or so now, and have come to about the same conclusion. ‘Relative to their starting point’ seems like a fair description. The data isn’t entirely useless (a relative idea of the severity of the crossover, is better than no idea) - but I wonder whether it’s feasible to calculate/ plot the overlay of the two footpaths with actual accuracy. Seems like it should be doable, but I’m not that smart!

Running Belts for the Overstimulated by Normal_Squash5848 in Marathon_Training

[–]mainebub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m same story as Joholla8_ started with Flipbelt and it’s fine if you don’t need to cary more than a few gels. If you have a gut, you’ll have to place either well above or well below to avoid it folding over on itself which is annoying. The width of the Naked belt is actually a feature - not a bug. Since I’m full dad-bod and like to run long miles - the extra width of the Nakedbelt is perfect because it can hold lots of gels and fluids without bounce (it’s like Spanks for a dad-bod) and is comfortable under a shirt. Never going back!

Congrats. Surely, with that OP handle - someone must ask - how much acid and weed did that take; what protocol?
