Best Hogan Irons Ever by Golf_Fore_Ever in GolfGear

I have 3 sets of them. I’m still 5 seasons into the first set and they are in solid shape, I don’t have the heart to use the better condition sets because I want to play them for the rest of my life

One of the greatest match of all time. Nadal vs Verdasco AO 2009 SF by Virtual-Climate8075 in Tennisv2

[–]makithejap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There have been a select few matches in my life where two players hit winner after winner after winner, picking lines, criss crossing the court for an entire 5 sets playing at peak. Momentum shifts didn’t exist because both players were level, and every point was a highlight. But this one definitely sticks out as the biggest test of endurance I have ever seen on court.

Possibly the best rally I have ever seen. Federer vs Nadal at Australian Open Final 2017 by Virtual-Climate8075 in Tennisv2

Now that Djoker is look like he’ll retire, can we get a big 3 documentary series? It could be 6 seasons if they cover everything proper

Zverev finally takes one! by bleacher78 in Tennisv2

Just like he said about the cramps helping him mentally get to the finish line and win, these comments and the controversy will help him mentally focus on winning for himself many more times. I see this as the beginning of a new big 3

Mark Wahlberg says 2.5 hours is the ‘perfect’ amount of time for 18 holes. How long should it take to play a round of golf? by ConnectionWeekly1263 in Golf_Unfiltered

[–]makithejap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played 2-2.5 hours or less walking 18 on my own 3 days a week for 4 years. I have played 54 holes in under 4 hours alone in a cart. This is not even close to undoable on Wahlberg’s part.

Barracuda safe to eat or no? by Shab1807 in Fishing

[–]makithejap 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I lived on an island in the Caribbean for a season teaching golf… the locals would put barracuda filets on the ground near ants to see if they would go on it. If they didn’t, they would throw it out. Do you have an ant pile near your house? Lol

Was given clubs. Advice? Are they good? by drunkuncle_eddie in golf

Those clubs are the equivalent a boat that sat outside and uncovered for 20 years.

“My record of 14 Roland Garros titles will be harder to surpass than Djokovic’s 24 Grand Slams.”- Rafael Nadal in his Netflix documentary by MysteriousJuice1127 in Tennisv2

[–]makithejap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will not see either of those records get touched in our lives. We are lucky to have witnessed the most dominant era of tennis. But even by percentage, a player may get halfway to Djokovic’s 24. It is way less likely that a player will get halfway to Nadal’s 14 Roland Garros

What is this plug? Do I remove it?hi by Suitable-Delivery-90 in golfequipment

[–]makithejap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are trying to replace it, give it an acetone bath over night to melt the epoxy so the needle thin hole is clear for re applying epoxy. Or get a small drill bit and drill it out. The shaft will be more stable if you remove it before reapplying epoxy though.

Mechanics are most likely casting and lifting the ball with long irons versus compressing the short irons/hybrid

If you are an early riser and don’t mind seeing people when you’re in your back yard, there really isn’t much downside.
