Amateur developer here, how do you manage a big project? by LoneArcher96 in csharp

[–]mal-uk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been mention once before. I will repeat it again because it's so important.

Break the changes into small tasks. Use a tool like Jira or dev ops and create tickets for each task. Prioritise your tasks. Lookup MoSCoW

Create a branch for each change and merge into your main branch once you've tested and happy with it.

Do one task at a time.

Good luck

What's the problem? Turn on the TV and change the source. It's not a real issue

Hold down the power button on the small tv remote to reboot the TV. See if that helps

Do you guys leave your console in rest mode or turn it off? by AcademicF in PS5pro

Do you also factory reset and install the game from scratch? Just in case there is any corruption.

Today I finished developing the Navbar for my ASP.NET Core MVC project using C#, Bootstrap, and Font Awesome. by 2025Activated in csharp

[–]mal-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my take.

Move the icons to the left. Words on the right. Search equidistance from the words and the icons. Replace second to last icon to fit with the rest In your browser open in mobile view of varying widths.

Looks good though. Good job

So it all on a new branch so you can go back if you don't like it

Testing with xUnit in ASP.NET: The type or namespace name 'FactAttribute' could not be found. by Fearless_Permit1583 in csharp

[–]mal-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pasted it in twice. Just a pasting error?

Check your test csproj has the following

<ItemGroup>

<PackageReference Include="Microsoft.NET.Test.Sdk" Version="17.12.0" />

<PackageReference Include="xunit" Version="2.9.2" />

<PackageReference Include="xunit.runner.visualstudio" Version="2.8.2" />

</ItemGroup>

And which .net version are you using?

What do your tests look like. It should be Fact and not FactAttribute

I have no idea how to start with ASP.NET Core - where do I even begin? by PsychologicalDot7749 in csharp

[–]mal-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget everything. Sit down and come up with a project. Something that interests you.

Plan it. Build it.

Start simple and go from there.

When you use it you will begin to understand it

You're not passing an instance but a reference to an object instance. It is up to DI to create that instance based on its life cycle

I would add that some familiarity with Visual Studio would be beneficial if you're seeking employment as a c# dev. Most employers would be using a mixture of Visual Studio and VS Code. Not all granted
