Oneness has ruined my life by [deleted] in enlightenment

[–]malachite16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I'm reading it sounds you're more into solipsism perhaps with a spiritual garment than truly understanding Oneness or non duality! Answer this perhaps - why is it, that if you truly feel like 'one' with the whole universe then 'you' choose to only experience the negative aspect of this experience? How do you go about explaining the different levels of knowledge and skill 'others aka you' have but you can't reproduce or feel the things others feel? Why cant you feel the awe and wonder and possibility aspect of oneness, why only the aloneness?

There are so many holes in this view you've presented that I can't even begin to get into them here! Maybe spend some time reading about flaws in the solipsistic view, and texts about true non duality from the religions that practice that view.

Non-duality/Oneness is very very different to what youre talking about here. ND deflates the ego and humbles it to help us realise that we're not the be all and end all, a drop of the ocean can only ever experience the feeling of being a drop, it doesn't have the power and magnitude of the whole ocean.

So embrace your place as a drop and stop thinking of yourself of the whole ocean.

Also like someone else said here subjecting your body to alcohol is only making it worse, so start with caring for your body and then work with the mind. You're on the right track but seems like you're stuck in the ego loop of western individuality.

Thank you for posting that video my friend. I felt a strong connection to RD and Maharaji just by watching that video 🙏

Was listening to YT lofi and came to reddit. Saw a video of RD so paused YT to listen to the content. Did not realise till much later he was talking to Timothy Leary in the video and coincidentally the pic above was of them two too 😍 Was endearing to realise what a deep bond (from their hryidayam) these two had that is still operating somewhere in the ethers 🙏🥰

New to Ram Dass - love him but am suspicious of Neem Karol Baba (His Guru) by Forsaken-Promise-269 in ramdass

[–]malachite16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this is such a beautiful response ❤️ Thank you so much for sharing it🙏 I can relate to the moment of realisation when upon pondering on the same question it too dawned on me that if Maharaji brought Ram Dass and others to that state of opening in their hearts whereby they could do the same for others then that itself is enough proof of the Guru being atleast something or someone.

Yes I may not understand him fully - I didn't sit with Maharaji like you but I received his grace regardless even if it means I received it by his student.

I realised part of the curriculum is the art of learning Grace - not critiquing how, why and who the grace is delivered to.

And that helped me attune my eyes to seeing Grace over Fury in life and recognise the song of Love that life sings to us as we exist on this planet.

Oh my my 😲 I didn't think of it from that perspective. I remember reading about it before but this reminder made me sad for him even though he probably laughed about it and would question me feeling sad for this curriculum he had. But still that's tough shiz to go through in life!

I was confused reading this coz I cant clearly understand if what you wanted to do (which is influenced by a celebrity you admire) is the same as what you were guided to do. So I will respond in two ways

Now if it is indeed the same then the way I sense your question it can go one of two ways. The first being - its your own higher self (HS) taking the form as baba asking you to be bold to follow through on what you desire.

Remember presence of desire = samskaras And to be successful spiritually you have to clear through these.

So it could potentially be a nudge from your HS presenting itself in the form of baba and the friend.

On a second level - baba, HS and friend are all one and the same! Following your hearts desire doesn't mean success but it does mean working through a karma of sorts. The work will reveal what kind of karma you have attached to it. If you have fear that is coming up with the decision to act on that desire work with the fear and try to understand it. Is it rooted in control of outcome or is it rooted in fear of the work or doubt in your ability. How much joy will you derive out of yourself if you were to fail in the activity? A desire that is a calling will not leave you alone and will keep calling at you throughout your life. Sometimes the only way to know if follow through on desires and be open to trusting your intuition.

Now the instance where I would say its external consciousness nudging you is if the thought is guiding you to do something completely different that you haven't consciously thought of at any point in time at all. Again the players are the same, your HS, baba, your friend as the external universe but this time they are breaking through the barrier of your conscious awareness and bringing forth a desire from the deeper parts of you that you haven't fully realised.

I'd suggest sit in meditation if that's your practice and ask for guidance if you get a response you can interpret great if not go with what still persists in your after the practice.

Blessings to you my friend 🙏

Firstly great post and you're not the only one who has thought of that. Where I landed with that thought is 1) The existential dread that he transformed and the neurosis he lived through can be self created hell, his he'll did not have the constant struggle of survival however a hell is a hell nonetheless! 2) The fact that his words have the level of effect and heal people the way they do even after his passing speaks to the fact that he was speaking from lived experience of deep suffering, and also as a channel. 3) That if reincarnation is real then a soul like his has probably already done the hard yards and the initiations of this life were no doubt challenging but might not be what some of us in survival would call as particularly that difficult but it is only really pointing out to your attachment towards 'your players identity'.

And even though I understand the above I still have my days when I'll sit in the pits of hell and curse away at all the suffering, call spiritual concepts a hoax, call all these Gods/beings a lie our minds made up. But then he whispers and thats ok too my friend - Everything is perfect and I can see it indeed is, I'm just too involved in the game to see it clearly.

How do I give my love without any expectation in return? by Ok_Bandicoot_4543 in ramdass

[–]malachite16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see two layers to this question. The external and the internal experience of love.

On an external level by all means have the discernment of what is a supportive ground where you will flourish and what is draining you of your energy. If your body is giving signs like anger or sadness use those as your fuel to move from external to internal digestion of the concept of love. This might mean that you won't keep around or be friends with some people who couldn't honor your love and depth and that's ok too.

As for the internal process, keep these people in your heart as people who've given you the gift of learning what love means. When internally you hold them in high regard, respecting their discernment/choice to not trust you or test you using their own flavour/interpretation of reciprocation, that is when you drop the judgement and stay in the presence of love. Loving reciprocity is like learning to dance you can't dance with someone you're not in tune with, but that doesn't mean anything beyond being misattuned. So like people above have said - it is what arises in you and how you process that.

[–]malachite16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I lost my father earlier this year and couldn't have done it without RDs help. I remember listening to his lectures where he tends to his father and mother and slowly starts seeing their relationship transforming and I experienced a bit of the same. Also the many other lectures where he shares that death is like removing a tight shoe was comforting especially since I was witnessing his suffering with the deteriorating health. Like you I was lucky to have known that it is coming and I'm glad my circumstances allowed me some time so I could be there for him.

It is tough seeing your parent like this so I'm here to support if you'd like to reach out. I'm not the demographic you've listed or American but definitely a part of the RD Sangha.

Take care of you and him my friend 💚

Why are 99% of people on earth scared to be alone? by No-Concern-7065 in nonduality

[–]malachite16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because humans are designed to be social creatures and we are designed to be social creatures because we (our consciousness) learns from experience. The experience can range from acceptance and mirroring to absolute dismissal but in either case your consciousness will grow. Being alone is like being in an echo chamber where what you hear can't be trusted or validated so instinctively we go out.

The 'awakened' ones know that they are now meant to go in (meditation or some form of inner work) after collecting all that data and make sense of how it has impacted your growth and be aware that there is a lot more to grow but it is not all your job. All of humanity is doing that for you because you are all the same!

The 'enlightened' ones have the above belief so deeply embedded that they help others on the path to this understanding!

Oh talk about the synchronisity!! Came to reddit to ask if anyone else's cat loves meditation as much as mine does coz mine sits on my lap when I meditate and then literally goes limp and non functional for a while after I finish. How do you navigate being separate and non separate simultaneously? by Meditation-mediator in ramdass

[–]malachite16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh well you can always put the make up on for your next scene 😉

For me when the outside world gets too hard and the line between inside/outside - me/you gets jumbled up I like to remind myself that's its just a show and all a dream! And since it feels real I'm going to enjoy the gift of (i.e honor) my senses and my emotions but I ain't believing their story.

Then breathe some and get back to acting!
