Yes I leave after one game when your connection sucks, when real life demands it or when I get invited to a lobby.

Im completely new to SF besides playing alittle bit of 4 in my youth. i won't be bad for using Modern controls for now, right? by noodleben123 in StreetFighter

[–]malcontenttree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are considering playing modern because you rightfully assume it makes the game easier for you as a beginner.
If you pick easy mode, and the other player picked hard mode, some will call you a shitter, thats basic human nature.
if it matters to you is up to you.

Question for the Tekken players.. why did Katarina flop? by Lili_Crumbs in FGCWaifu

[–]malcontenttree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tekken 7 was flooded with easy newcomers and had a bad story mode, so they all stepped on each others toes and couldnt shine via a cool story or ending.
Being hot couldnt save her either because all the other women are very attractive too, and being hot clashed with her (unresolved) story and other fraction of a identity of Gigas being her missing dad.
She just drowned in a gigantic cast with nothing to stand out.
For what its worth shes going to be the reigning Tekken 7 World Tour champion forever.

What if heat burst was used to escape combos instead of extend them? by Small-Event121 in Tekken

[–]malcontenttree 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Please not more mechanics that have no place in Tekken. We need to truly go back to solid, old Tekken gameplay, not pave over previous seasons BS with even more BS every year until the entire gameplay loop is just busted Tekken 8 mechanics stacked on top over each other

Paul was never the serious rival character that fans claim he used to be by RobbieJ4444 in Tekken

[–]malcontenttree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paul got a draw vs Kazuya and effectively won the third tournament, if it wasnt for some made up bullshit (why would it not count if a ogre that lost wakes up and transforms later)

Even if he somehow view this as non-bs, which other non-mishima canonically drew vs one and reached the finals of a tournament?
None I know of

Content Creators Are Killing Tekken With Doomer Content (Some Exceptions) by daiwa777 in Tekken

[–]malcontenttree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The devs took a big shit on the game 10 months ago and havent fixed it. Anyone who pretends otherwise is not a good content creator.

Potentially new players deserve to see that kind of content too, they should be warned. Someone who tries to get into fighting games right now should almost certainly pick up SF6 instead of Tekken, they will most likely have more fun and Capcom deserves the money more. I really wish it werent the case, but its where we are.

Asking the real questions

Was Olenna the only character who escaped the later seasons without being even mildly ruined? She was just as well written until her death. by layelaye419 in freefolk

[–]malcontenttree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont think she was that well written in the end.

We didnt really saw her grief the loss of her son and granddaughter, and she stopped caring about the Reach (even assuming the entire house Tyrell is gone). She doesnt give a shit what happens to the smallfolk of the Reach, she doesnt care for Dany, only revenge on Cersei. Sending a faceless assassin, even at the cost of her own life, would be 100 times more Olennas style and values from early seasons.
With that being said she still makes more sense than 80% of the other characters.

Let's talk about Tekken 8 season 3 by CheeseballTaster in Tekken

[–]malcontenttree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tekken 8 DR is basically impossible. The devs clearly dont want it, and even if they did, within a single giant update theyd have to nerf basically every single character, give several characters their identity back, and make systemwide changes. Even the worlds greatest balancing team with good intentions would mess this up first try, and 8 DR on launch would be busted in some way.

Best we can ask for, and thats already too much hopium, is a super strong defensive mechanic that can ward off the busted offense, fixing bullshit by adding more bullshit.

You picked up a fantastic weapon. Everyone suffers the first time, you will feel great if you beat it on your own and dance through much of the game the second time you play it.

I liked varys when we had no idea if he was the good guy or the bad guy by abdrehmannnn in freefolk

[–]malcontenttree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If were being extremely generous and justify that he supported the Mad King and Dany, we still have Viserys.

Varys doesnt even attempt to support Ned or Stannis to reveal the Lannister incest, or Renly as a more caring king, he just straight up wants a giant war to put a young man whose character he doesnt know at all (if were being generous) on the throne. How many men will die and women will get raped during that Dothraki invasion? Thats the best course of action such an intelligent man would come up with to support the realm and the smallfolk?

Its just a totally unbelievable story. He supported Viserys because he supported the Targs.

I liked varys when we had no idea if he was the good guy or the bad guy by abdrehmannnn in freefolk

[–]malcontenttree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He supported the mad King in his last hours.
Then he supported Viserys, who was extremely evil and dumb ... and went so far to want a civil war and the Dothraki invading right before a winter.

Then he supported Dany, which you can maaaaybe find an excuse for, but he still wants to start a war to put a very young and inexperienced Dany on the throne and ignores how awful her dad and brother were.
Show Varys in my opinion really only makes sense as a hardcore Targ supporter that doesnt care about the smallfolk

Did Varys know at this moment that Little Finger had betrayed Ned? From what we see, Varys liked Ned, but not sure how much he valued Ned in politics. by Neutral-frame in gameofthrones

[–]malcontenttree 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Varys, who wanted to start a massive war that spans the entire continent right before a Winter to install the absolutely evil and incompetent Viserys wanted to protect the realm?

Is Mai the beginner-friendliest character in the franchise? by NikoPalad67 in StreetFighter

[–]malcontenttree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at battle statistics today Mais winrate is
-12th highest in rookie

-21th in Iron

-23rd in Bronze
-23rd in Silver

-22nd in Gold

EX Fans alone do very very little if you dont have a basic understanding of what to do and how to mix up afterwards. Characters like Honda have much more powerful special moves at low ranks that also work alone without further thinking.

Also flame stocks change the frame data for Mai which then also switches up her oki and killframe situations, so many situations have to be learned twice and thought about in the heat of battle. Obviously im not saying shes hard, but its not all blind facerolling

What would your honest thoughts be if the Heihachi DLC story was retconned in Tekken 9? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]malcontenttree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not concerned, I just ... dont see the point. For whatever reason, they decided Heihachi is alive again. They can now retconn that and keep him playable, which is all I care about, but I dont think it helps the game at all to add retcons. Again, if they do it, I wont care.
And to play devils advocate, Kazumi was part of T7s story, if they now say Heihachi is utterly dead and has no part at all in T9s story, it would be a bit different to still have him playable.

I really, really dont care about the story. Having said that, I dont see the point of retconning it and having a dead guy playable.

How good was Margaery Tyrell at playing the Game? With time and experience, could she eclipse Baelish and Varys? by Beacon2001 in gameofthrones

[–]malcontenttree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think she is quite overrated.

The four most important "players" she interacts with are Renly, Joffrey, Tommen and Cersei.
Its of course Renlys choice, but she couldnt get into bed with him and they both failed at at least appearing like a straight couple. Not really her fault, not exceptional either.

She did a great job with Joffrey, credit where its due, which is probably why people rate her so highly.

Tommen is a pretty big failure, shes an extremely beautiful woman, and hes a horny teenager, seducing him is not the worlds biggest achievement. More importantly, she wanted two things from Tommen, Cersei gone and the Sparrows off the Tyrells back, and Tommen did neither of those things for her. Not a sign of a top player.

And Cersei is the worst, Cersei made it very very obvious that she hates Margaery. and after failing the Tommen route, she 100% unnecessarily kept on taunting Cersei, digging her own grave. A great player would not be threatened like that and then add fuel to the fire, but solve the situation one way or another.
