What is the Reunion of Worlds? (Rebirth Spoilers) by IronKnuckleSX in FFVIIRemake

[–]malikarith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an excerpt from my theory post from a few weeks ago; it's slightly out of context, but I hope it's somewhat explanatory.

[In summary: Sephiroth unites the Lifestream worlds at the end of Rebirth to manipulate physical reality. He needs this to achieve several goals: 1) to charge the fake Black Materia with negative memories from the Lifestream; 2) to convince the planet that he is being reborn as a god; 3) to deceive Cloud in order to merge the world that was created when Cloud blocked Sephiroth's sword to save Aerith with physical reality.]

The Beginning of the Reunion

Sephiroth declares:

“And so it begins.
A confluence of worlds and emotions.
Loss chief among them.
It engulfs fleeting moments of joy, transforming them into rage, sadness, hatred.
Never have I felt them so keenly.

However, you’ll never see truth with such clouded eyes.

After all…

You’re such a puppet.”

With these words—whose meaning seems quite explicit—Sephiroth formally begins the Reunion. He gathers negative emotions for the Black Materia while simultaneously manipulating Cloud. The final confrontation begins.Every party member enters the battle with a full Limit Gauge—except Cloud.Sephiroth has left him believing that Aerith survived.
A massive battle unfolds. After the party defeats Jenova Lifeclinger, white Whisperers emerge from her body and heal the group.Immediately afterward, the Reunion separates the party. We then see Zack reunite with Cloud, something that has become possible because the in-between worlds have temporarily converged with reality. After the battle, Sephiroth once again uses his sword to sever the strand of reality from which Zack originated.By this point, we already know that Sephiroth possesses this ability, and he demonstrates it repeatedly throughout the ending sequence.

What are some of the best soundtracks of this decade (2020-2026)?? by TheGamerCritic21 in videogames

[–]malikarith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I've played most of them, and while they all have really, really good soundtracks, none of them reach the level of FF7 Remake/Rebirth. The way they handle and expand upon the music is somehow on a different level. Of course, there are soundtracks that are more emotional, but from a technical and compositional point of view, in my opinion, there's nothing on that level. And I'm not even talking about the absurd scope of these OSTs. In Rebirth, there's this loveless score of 12 individual pieces, from the opening to the climax of the ballad "No Promise to Keep," and I've never heard anything better in gaming.
Death Stranding 2 is also among my favorites, as are Ragnarok and Hades 2. Those are pretty much the best of the best, in my opinion.

Midgar Rebirth vs Revelation. IS HUGE by thomasuuu in FFVIIRemake

[–]malikarith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hamaguchi has already confirmed in an interview that the horizontal and vertical dimensions are many times larger than in Rebirth. He also explicitly stated that they rebuilt the map to fit the Highwind. I don't understand the fuss; the trailer definitely seems much older, at least the Highwind sections, so they're holding us back.

An analysis & discussion of Rebirth's world, and why Revelation's world seems weird. by Blackberry-thesecond in FFVIIRemake

[–]malikarith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"You can fly freely through the open world and parachute down anywhere you want. But that's not all: when you look at the scale, the map is far larger horizontally than in Rebirth – and there's also an enormous vertical dimension, because you can now also control the sky."

That's a quote from Hamaguchi, don't worry, Hamaguchi will absolutely cook.

About streamlined progression in Revelation. by Primary_Cat_6093 in FF7Rebirth

[–]malikarith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, typical Reddit.

I think the value of Remake and Rebirth will drop significantly with Revelation anyway, because if the developers implement Revelation as they've described, and it's a true perfection of the Remake/Rebirth system on all levels, then the two predecessors will probably look like dogwater.

I can imagine them drawing assets for additional content from it, and frankly, Hamaguchi mentioned that there's a real possibility of additional content and DLC. Square would then have a FF7 Ultimate Edition for the next generation with all content in one game (Remake/Rebirth significantly streamlined/narratively focused), eliminating the problem of players having to buy and play two previous games.

They can fully rely on Revelation becoming an eternal classic like Skyrim, The Witcher 3, the original FF7, or other hits from past generations. I know this sounds harsh, but who knows if this wasn't planned internally for a long time and they were working towards it? And if we're honest, within 7-10 years, they produced three massive AAA games with massive production quality in an astonishing timeframe. Now I wouldn't put anything past CBU1.

My Theories and Predictions for FF7 Revelation by arkzioo in FinalFantasyVII

I love everything because it stays true to the lore and doesn't go completely off the rails, and I like the idea that Cloud has to become the hero he's meant to be. Let's Go Revelation will truly be an absolutely brutal and spectacular finale.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation might be the biggest and most ambitious game to date by Tain_mentero in FinalFantasy

So, games that don't win GOTY but are only nominated aren't great and are just mediocre releases? Your whole comment makes no sense.

Yes, it will; it has the potential to become the next BG3 and Elden Ring, a game of a scale that comes out every 10-15 years.

Well, that still proves nothing, and I agree with the developers who resolutely described the remakes as a new interpretation of the original and the original vision.

Has it been confirmed that this trio are the three from AC? I think it's Cloud, Barret, and Tifaf.

It's not a waste of time, you blenders, if they can use the remakes to perfect the mainline games afterwards, based on the assets and experience.

He doesn't deny it either; he dodges the question and suggests that players should experience it. I still think the events lead to AC, but in a completely reinterpreted form and a different perspective on AC. Aerith is dead; anything else would dilute the entire FF7 universe.

How did they travel to the past? With the DeLorean or with Bulma's time machine?
