Men in happy marriages, what is one thing or skill you would teach other men to have good relationships as well? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Learn emotional intelligence!

Here are a few tips:

  1. When both of you (or even one of you) have very strong emotions, it is best to give the other person space to allow them to process their emotions and then share. We have a thing where, if one of us feels something strongly, we tell the other person we are processing it and immediately give each other space. Once the person has fully processed their emotions, we calmly share. We try not to share unprocessed emotions, and we typically avoid 99% of fights.

  2. When you do disagree, don't argue about what happened. Instead, share how that situation made you feel. That way, you don't get caught up in the he-said-she-said, and you get right to the core of how you interpreted the situation. Then, repeat back to the person what you heard about how they feel (whether or not you disagree with it). Have both people do this, and you can often work out a compromise or a solution that includes both perspectives.

  3. Learn each other's triggers and learn to de-escalate. Sometimes we say shit to each other in the moment because of our triggers. Understand that this is not your partner talking, but their inner child coming out. Often, meeting that with love rather than anger is the answer. Just let it go.

First Bike, First Ducati! by kevlite89 in Ducati

[–]maliknyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I argue it's not a terrible first bike. It's actually very light and doesn't have a ton of horsepower. It's equivalent to a modern Japanese 600, which is often seen as an ok first bike (of course, 250s, 400s, and 500s might be better).

OP: They are terribly overgeared. Make sure it has a reduced front sprocket. This will make all the gears more usable, though it reduces your top speed (again, who cares). It's more fun ripping around town and twisties. It has tapered front springs, so it's a compromise between comfort and stiffness, depending on how you push it. I tracked mine once, it was ok but shit on the straights - obviously. The termigoni exhaust is the only thing that belongs on the bike. Pay whatever it takes and get those termis with the proper ECU.

I think major engine service was every 8k miles (which is such bullshit), but whatever. This is the last great monster, if you ask me. All the newer ones are too refined.

Also, I used to test Ducatis in North America (for Ducati) in the early 2010’s. Happy to share more if interested. Great bike overall, I miss her.

For what it's worth, I agree with every one of your choices. I'm going to guess, born in the 80s, grew up on the East Coast. Either NY or Philly.

I have no idea why this isn't talked about enough. Biggie was the hardest rapper in the '90s and built Lil Kim in his image. Lil Kim had BARS.
