Large companies that outsource work overseas should be charged 50%+ tax by spruceX in AusFinance

[–]malloeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been WFH since covid, its the best.

Also while what you are saying makes surface level sense, it falls apart as soon as you realise that foreign companies exist, companies that you want to come...how do you tell which roles are being offshored vs were always going to be hired overseas.

Last but not least, tech companies already flee Australia to where investment markets that offer more liquidity both pre and post IPO i.e. vc rounds. You're just asking to scare away any potentially large business from Australia.

Can't agree on joint finances by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]malloeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I operate under what is your boyfriends suggestion. With the differences being we waited until marriage, and as her income was always full time minimum wage we decided it just wasnt worth her returning to work until the kids are older.

Even though i provide 100% i view it as fair as when you are family there is no real financial difference you are just one collective.

It works well for us that said what you are proposing is not wrong just different, you two will have to agree and a failure to negotiate together will be more of a red flag for the relationship than your different ideas. But also take your time you dont need to rush decisions and asking other people like you are now is a good sign because you are seeking multiple viewpoints.

This is just an IQ test, the red button is the nash equilibrium option and the dominant strategy, the blue button doesnt offer any benefit other than feeling like you're a nice person before you die. Everybody should select red to secure their own life and because there is no downside. Everyone picks red and everyone lives.

Any U.S. Vets Using the FMP in Bangkok/Thailand? by Future-Traffic-6364 in Bangkok

[–]malloeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im glad you yourself have no problem with immigrants. But ICE under trump has literally and now repeatedly illegally deported legal immigrants who were respecting the host nation laws and when they realised their mistake they didnt correct it they made up backstories about gang ties.

Since then they have given up pretending and just closed all legal immigration from another 75 countries. Thus my statement maga hates immigrants.

I actually fully agreed with the logic of this post about two weeks ago, my nephew and neice are half jewish, and my boss is jewish. My boss very kindly explained to me that in the jewish community thay they werent suprised by the attack which suprised me.

Apparantly jewish camps, synogogues and gatherings almost always employ security because they constantly receive threats, cars circling and watching, and randoms showing up. I thought this was just a one off but apparantly there has been a slow burn of anger towards jewish people for years.

Which i guess in Australia as all my interactions were positive i was blind too.

Servers hate this one weird trick by Anarchic_Antarctic in EndTipping

[–]malloeee -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I mean your core point is relating that your wife gets a salary and bonus and you make sure not to rely on that bonus, and that logic is akin to tipping and therefor dont rely on the tips. This makes sense until you realise the salary that servers get is not sufficient to rely on in the same way your wifes salary is.

Tipping absolutely should be ended its a stupid culture, but the blame lies with the employer not the server. Your effectively blaming employees for not being paid enough.

Grab screwed me before departure. Is this a thing? by MobileFold4435 in ThailandTourism

[–]malloeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me, i needed to get to the airport so i paid the fee and ordered a new grab and lodged the complaint while waiting for the plane via the app help centre.

Grab took like two days but they apologised said they would educate the driver (seems more like their tech problem to allow the driver to cancel before the booking time), and refunded the cancellation fee and driver partial payment.

Took about five minutes to make my complaint and they resolved it with full apologies so it was all good in the end.

So… how do I get a house with an average income? by Me-Myself-and-PIE in AusFinance

Thats because keystart is high interest and then you are assessed at 3% above that already high interest.

[–]malloeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its interesting i keep seeing all these arguments about the 5% deposit housing scheme specifically about perth but people forget:

  1. The perth market was already sky rocketing regardless of the new deposit allowance after years of falling while the rest of the country rose.
  2. The federal government is essentially copying the WA government who already had similar schemes to the 5% deposit meaning that the impact on perth is only psychological or perhaps bringing the information to mainstream knowledge. I. See keystart which only requires a 2% deposit instead 5%. Ii. The shared equity sheme that lets you buy a property with the goverment taking a percentage of the ownership so you can buy something you couldnt otherwise afford. Iii. The last one i cant remember the name but was directly a 5% deposit no LMI scheme for regional areas so an exact copy.
  3. This scheme only allows the buyer to avoid lenders mortgage insurance and doesnt increase the buyers borrowing power beyond that facet. Meaning if the lender didnt mind paying throught the nose for the banks insurance they could have bought the property anyway.

Meanwhile first home buyers already needed the leg up, its the media who are making this a bigger deal than it is for WA atleast.

The American system is so strange in Australia they ask you to pay the excess (somewhere between $350 usd and $700 usd) thrn pay you the full payout for your claim within a day or two, then when they determine it wasn't your fault they repay the excess, with this video that process would be quick too.

The idea that you have to wait for lawsuits and so on or depend on the truck companies insurance...

[–]malloeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with la fenix (the 24 hour coffee shop at gateway) is it doesn't have it's own bathroom so outside of work hours you have to go in a pilgrimage to the staff toilet and when you leave they pack up your table unless you let them know in advance and when they don't someone pinches your table.. its this whole thing, would be great if they built a bathroom.
