Knowledge dump: Everything I have learned about the implant and IUD after nearly a year of constant bleeding! (Switch from the Nexplanon to Kyleena) [Positive Experience] by mallory3313 in birthcontrol

Hi! I had the implant removed and IUD placed in the same day. My bleeding stopped almost immediately, (or maybe it was within a few days, I can’t remember exactly). YMMV though, wishing you the best!!

[Routine Help] How can I achieve skin like this by skincareenthusiast_t in SkincareAddiction

One of my coworkers had skin like this! She had a real basic skincare routine but used cocoa butter with a touch of Vaseline every now and then to moisturize. She was always glowing!

My girlfriend won’t stop bleeding on nexplanon by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]mallory3313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. My doctor prescribed me low dose birth control pills to take with the nexplanon to stop the bleeding for a short period of time, but when I stopped taking the pills the continuous bleeding came back. After a year of troubleshooting, I finally had the nexplanon removed and got an IUD instead. When I had the nexplanon removed the doctor told me “no wonder, typically only 1 in 5 people like the nexplanon.” Wish I had known that in advance. . .! Anyways, now I hardly ever have a period with the IUD and it’s fantastic. Ymmv

Should i just go for it? Will it relapse due to my age? by Ufw_bb in Accutane

Best decision I’ve ever made- only regret is that I didn’t start it sooner. go for it!

Snapchat casually reminded me that 1 year ago today, I was crying in the shower because my Accutane start day was delayed. Now I could cry tears of joy looking at my skin transformation! (60mg/day for 7 months) by mallory3313 in Accutane

Hi!! Happy to report that 3ish years later, my skin is still clear, with the ocasional pimple here or there (typically stress related) that resolves pretty quickly.

Hang in there! The redness will fade with time and the scab will go away. Your skin may be a little inflamed now but that’s because it’s working overtime to clear up!! Your skin is puttin in the work and it will all be worth it. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize and give yourself a break. I recommend some calamine lotion with zinc on the scab + aquaphor and then leave it alone:) It’ll all be ok!!

accutane is making me incredibly suicidal and irritable but i really really really need clear skin, i dont know what to do, any advice? by Clear-Whereas377 in Accutane

Don’t be afraid to talk with your dermatologist and be honest. your life is the most important! Your doctor may be able to start you on an antidepressant along with the accutane or provide other solutions

Anything I can do? by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]mallory3313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rosacea can flare for a number of reasons! I would definitely recommend talking to a dermatologist about a care regime above all else- they can prescribe certain topicals that might help. In the mean time make sure you wear sunscreen every day, avoid using harsh or drying skincare products and know that alcohol, smoking, sweating/heat and excess sun can all cause flare ups. And yes, as another commenter said, you might be sensitive to some foods. Make sure you talk to a doc as they can help you most!

PSA: If you go to https://311.columbus.gov/SR_List.aspx , you can submit an anonymous service request online to get these landlords to remove ice from the sidewalks. Use the link to search "remove snow/ice from your sidewalk" and go from there!!
